👏🏼
Tulum is lame. 😂
Here with Brandon and ten of the best friends of our adult life. My parents taught me about cultivating super deep adult friendships (they are going on a cruise this spring with their best friends from 1984). I didn’t know there was any other way. You figure out your squad, then you spend a billion hours with them, mostly on your porches but sometimes in Mexico. That’s it. That’s the formula. Hours, moments, days, years. It’s time.
The people on this beach with me have been by my side for every single major moment in my life since I was 24. Their kids got engaged and married in my backyards. My kids had night terrors in their houses on sleepovers and they sprinkled baby powder on their sheets as “protection.” We’ve showed up sobbing on one another’s doorsteps. They have always been the first texts. We’ve been all around the world and all around each others’ kitchens and all around our tragedies and triumphs and absolute lowest moments and absolute highest. We’ve been to all the big games and graduations and engagement parties and weddings, and in just a short time, we’ll hold each others’ grandbabies.
Best friends are a gift and a treasure. We get a few in this short, little life. Grab onto them with both hands and never let go.
