In the spirit of transparency, and keeping you informed, here is an update from The Garden Elves re: our operations.
On April 3rd, 2020, a revised list of Essential Workplaces was published by the Premier of Ontario, outlining business activities that can continue in the province. In the document, under #20, allowances are made for Maintenance to continue its work for the property management industry. The excerpt from https://www.ontario.ca/page/list-essential-workplaces - section-2 states:
20. Maintenance, repair and property management services strictly to manage and maintain the safety, security, sanitation and essential operation of institutional, commercial, industrial, and residential properties and buildings.
The Garden Elves’ keep properties safe and clean by:
• Cleaning of all litter, leaves, twigs, and debris accumulated over the winter, all hard surface walkways will be cleared
• Blowing of winter debris on roadways, driveways and pathways
• Maintenance pruning of plants and trees to promote proper shape and keep properties safe (i.e. deadwood and limiting insect reproduction/ sustainability)
• Weeding of garden beds to prevent pests and damage to building and infrastructure
• Mowing and trimming of lawns
Keeping to this scope of services has been confirmed as acceptable by both the Burlington Police Station as well as discussions with an Ontario lawyer and the COVID-19 info line.
We continue to operate with safety as our #1 priority. The guidelines below are designed to keep our staff, clients, suppliers, and the communities safe:
1. Workers will arrive on site in separate vehicles – maximum of one person per vehicle.
2. Company vehicles will be wiped down and sanitized each day.
3. Workers will wear gloves and will sanitize their tools frequently.
4. Workers will practice social distancing with no public interactions onsite.
5. Workers have been instructed to self-monitor their health; anyone displaying symptoms will be instructed to self-quarantine until such time as they can be tested or have been symptom free for 14 days after symptoms were last experienced.
We will continue to call you prior to any site visits. If for any reason you don’t want to receive our services at this time, just let us know and we will not attend your property.
