Today is Canada Literacy Day, which feels like a pretty fitting day to share this month's Leaders R Readers pick: The Advice Trap by Michael Bungay Stanier.
One of the things the book challenges us to think about is our tendency to jump in with advice before we really understand what's going on.
Sometimes, the better approach is to stay curious. Ask a question. Listen. Learn something you didn't already know.
And honestly, that applies far beyond leadership.
In design, we're constantly learning from our clients, our teams, and the people who will ultimately use the spaces we create. The more we listen, the better we understand, and the better we can design.
Maybe that's one of the best things about reading, too. It gives us a reason to stay curious.
What's something you've read recently that changed the way you think?
