When dealing with stone…. GET OUT THE GRINDER!

James Hardie, LP Smart Siding, Maibec wood siding! All high end siding products that are guaranteed to make your home a show stopper. Not only that they are backed by industry leading warranty’s to in sure your investment lasts! But with that said it’s only as good as the installer doing the job. Here are some pro tips too keep in mind..

💥proper draining and venting. This will add a lot of life to the product.
💥Using proper nail guns such as Paslode, hitachi, Erwin. (Not roofing nails as they don’t have the same holding strength)
💥proper nailing and spacing! I nail my rain screen into studs and then nail siding 12” or 16” depending on product and spacing of strapping
💥paint all cut ends and cuts above windows and doors
💥proper clearances above roof lines and sills
💥do not caulk the space above window and doors. This leads to disaster
💥pocket screw trims and glue. They will look beautiful and will be indestructible!
💥leave proper room for expansion and contraction
💥some products like James Hardie don’t want you to mitre their trims.
💥educate and always follow manufacturer guidelines

Check the before and afters of this man cave! What started as a night mare eventually turned into a sweet spot anyone would want to have for game days with the buddies! It started with 3 layers of wood siding to tear off, and a whole lot of repairs. Some parts of the walls were 4-5” bowed in. Once that was fixed it was insulated with 2” insulation boards, and strapping to provide a rain screen to keep this exterior dry and performing at its best for years to come. Exterior selections are Lp smart siding in terra brown, Be on stone veneer stone, and aluminum soffit, trough and fascia in Pebble.

What do we mean when you hear the word luxury? I consider KBS Carpentry Inc to be a luxury siding contractor. This shouldn’t keep you from reaching out about your exterior projects. Does this mean we do high end houses with high end materials? Yes of course. But this word LUXURY means so much more than that. It means, or at least in my mind, that no matter who you are or no matter the size of your house or project you will be treated equally. There is budgets and materials for all sizes and budgets. With Luxury contractors you can be assured you’re getting someone with lots of experience in every situation, the knowledge and know how for all materials applications and can guide you through every step. Luxury means the level of service being provided to you. Such as communication, cleansliness, honesty, integrity, fairness, and quality workmanship. I see today a lot of lack in the quality and actual know how of how things should be done and the process of things. Areas I see lack in, are flashing systems and awareness, and also rains screening systems. Yes even builders and contractors struggle with looking for these things or even knowing propers ways of installs. It’s about cheap and speed anymore. A luxury contractor goes beyond this and gives you nothing but the best no matter the size or budget. So ask your contractors questions, don’t be afraid! Feel confident in who you’re hiring has you covered in all these things. The outside of your home is so often over looked.
