We’re kicking off another season at Prosperity Acres.

The greenhouse is open for browsing this weekend. We only sell what we grow ourselves, right here on the farm, and there’s lots growing.

We’re keeping plants protected in the greenhouse until nighttime temperatures are consistently 10°C or warmer. You’re welcome to come browse, plan your garden and dream a little, but our advice is to wait until the Victoria Day weekend to plant most annuals and vegetables. ~ Jenn

Every winter, I make time to keep learning. This year, that included completing Invasive Terrestrial Plants Training through the Invasive Species Centre.

One lesson in particular — Escaping the Garden: Impacts of Common Ornamental Garden Invasives — stood out. It’s something we’ve been paying attention to for a long time, and the reason we adopted the 'Grow Me Instead' approach when it launched years ago.

I’m also aiming to fit in invasive forest pest training before the holidays wrap up. What we grow — and what we don’t grow — matters. Understanding how invasive plants and pests spread helps guide better choices, in the garden and beyond. ~ Jenn
