Not as a marketing move. Not because someone pressured us into it. Because we believed families deserved somewhere to land if life fell apart mid-journey — and nobody else was building that net.

We also built a three-stage payment plan because handing everything over upfront on faith alone felt wrong to us. You're already carrying so much. The finances shouldn't be another place where you feel exposed.

These things exist because of what we believe. Not because of what anyone else was doing.

30 years of families built. The first refund policy in Canadian surrogacy history. One of the only agencies in Canada with a three-stage payment plan — because asking families to hand over everything upfront on faith alone never sat right with us. A founder who nearly died in 2024, rebuilt anyway, and is writing this herself.

For years, intended parents would ask us the same question:

“Do you have a refund policy?”

And for a long time, the answer in this industry was simply… no.

But I kept thinking about the human side of this journey.

Life happens. Loss happens. Circumstances change. And I could never fully stand behind a model that forced families to continue down a path after devastation simply because they had already paid.

If I were in that position; if I had suffered a major loss, or my world changed overnight; would I want to feel trapped in a process I no longer had the emotional ability to continue?

Absolutely not.
Especially after going through life events so traumatic that altered my family's life path.

That thinking is what led us to create refund protection at CSO.

Not as a marketing angle.
Not as a trend.
But because we believed intended parents deserved compassion, flexibility, and protection in one of the biggest journeys of their lives.

We changed the standard because we believed families deserved better. 💜
