I had to opportunity to create a special display piece that will forever live in the offices of some Canadian space pioneers.

I poured countless hours into making this technically accurate model pop with lifelike, realistic colours. It was a fun project, and I got to brush off my model painting skills from when I was younger building WW2 models.

The rocket engine is 3D printed in PLA and every last detail was hand painted. I know the recipients will enjoy this model every day.

We lost one of the good ones this week. 🕯️

This little guy was our hotend — the part of the 3D printer that melts and extrudes the plastic for every single thing we make. After one too many jams, it finally gave up the ghost, and honestly? It deserved a proper send-off, not just a trip to the parts bin.

So here's to the hotend that clogged so our prints could flow. We'll be swapping in a replacement this week and getting back to business as usual (with maybe a little more nozzle maintenance from now on).

Up until now, we could only print from files you (or we) designed. Now, we can scan a physical object and turn it into a 3D-printable model, which opens up a lot of new possibilities:

🔧Lost or broken part with no replacement available? We can scan the old one and recreate it.

🎯Want a custom fit version of something you already own? We can scan it and modify the design.

📦Have an object you want digitized so you can reprint, resize or remix it? We’ve got you covered.

This is a great option if you’ve been searching everywhere for a part that just doesn’t exist anymore, or you have an idea that begins as something physical rather than a digital file.
