Soulangeana Magnolia 🌸
If you’ve ever dreamed of a tree that looks like it’s straight out of a painting… this is it.

The Soulangeana Magnolia, also called Saucer Magnolia, is loved for its massive tulip-shaped blooms in soft pink and white that open before the leaves appear in spring. When it blooms, it completely steals the show.

And yes… you can grow it in zone 3 with the right spot.

✨ How to help it thrive in our climate:
• Plant in a full sun to part shade location
• Choose a sheltered area out of strong winter wind — south or east-facing near a house, fence, or protected yard is ideal
• Loves well-draining, rich soil
• Water deeply while it establishes, especially in hot summer stretches
• Add mulch around the base to help keep roots cool in summer and insulated through winter
• Avoid low frost pockets if possible, since early blooms can be sensitive to late spring frost

Why it’s worth it? Because very few trees put on a spring show like this. The blooms are huge, elegant, and absolutely unforgettable. Even when not flowering, it has a beautiful shape that adds character to the landscape.
