Here’s a collection of plants that will have the best chance of survival in a dorm room with a busy, stressed out student.

They don’t require a lot of light, some of them require little water and they are all easy care plants.

Why gift a plant to a student leaving home for the first time? A plant adds life to a cookie cutter dorm room. They can help decrease stress and anxiety. Caring for them can give a person purpose.

Sansevieria Sp.

- requires low light
- water every few weeks
- thrives on being ignored

ZZ Plant (Zamioculcas zamiifolia)

- low light tolerance
- water every few weeks
- thrives on being ignored

Peperomia sp.

- allow soil to dry 50% to 75%
- various leaf colours and shapes
- pet friendly

Pothos sp.

- tolerates low light
- prefers medium to bright indirect light
