Inspired by the raw beauty beneath the earth’s surface, this workplace draws from geological formations, mineral strata, and the process of discovery. Layered textures, handcrafted finishes, warm copper tones, integrated planting, and custom artwork reference carved terrain and precious materials — creating a space that feels grounded, tactile, and connected to the client’s work. Rather than relying on branding, the design tells their story through material, texture, and experience.

As one of Vancouver’s most significant transit-oriented developments, The Stories at South Granville Station represents a new generation of workplace design—where the journey through a building is just as important as the destination.
Edit Studios was engaged to design the commercial interior amenity spaces, with a vision of creating an experience that feels intentional from the moment occupants enter the building. Rather than treating each amenity as a standalone destination, we approached the project as a continuous narrative, ensuring every space—from the arrival lobby and shared corridors to the fitness centre, end-of-trip facilities, and tenant lounges—worked together to create a cohesive and elevated workplace experience.

Confidential Forestry Company office - Media Post
Rooted in strength, craftsmanship, and connection to place.

This workplace transformation for a confidential client in the forestry industry draws inspiration from the rich history of Canada’s forestry and steel industries, blending natural textures, earthy tones, warm wood detailing, and refined metal accents to create a space that feels grounded, authentic, and welcoming.

A key concept throughout the design was recreating the feeling of walking through a forest. Dappled light became an important design feature, expressed through custom wall coverings, carefully considered lighting placement, and filtered light passing through office glazing films onto surrounding walls. These layered moments create movement, softness, and a sense of calm throughout the workplace experience.

From the moment you arrive, the environment is intended to feel approachable and less stressful for both staff and visitors, balancing functionality with warmth, comfort, and a deeper connection to nature and place.

Designed to feel organic, collaborative, and enduring, this space reflects the people and industry it was created

Beyond the workout…

We’re seeing an opportunity for fitness spaces to become destinations for coaching, content creation, wellness, hospitality, and community.

If you could design the next generation of fitness HQs, what would you include?

For this project, storytelling became part of the workplace experience, from global clocks connecting international teams, to murals celebrating diversity, and environmental graphics inspired by the client’s own digital brand language. A workplace shaped by culture, identity, and the people behind it.
