October in 20 squares 🟫

Dahlias were dug, peonies were shipped / peonies were planted, we had a quick preview of winter and the animals got lots of attention 🤎

October always goes by in a hurry, this year even more so. It’s a month of odds and ends and wrapping up everything that’s happened since thaw. Soon enough we’ll be preparing for calving + taking dahlia cuttings 😳

Ready for the somewhat slowness that is near 🤎

The weather is getting a little less cute around here 🥶

Cold wind, dry skin, endless chores and approximately 47 layers of clothing (for me at least 🥲)

Year 30. 🤎

Another year, but also an entirely new decade.

I spent my 20’s raising babies, growing a ranch alongside my husband, and figuring out… well… life!

I’m entering my 30’s already living my dream. An incredible partner, two healthy and wild boys, amazing friends and family, a growing ranch, my heart horse, and a passion for flowers that has grown into Rooted Ranch Co (and is becoming such a present and exciting part of our family) 🥹

It took a lot to get here, and now that I’m here, it feels like life is only getting started. Like there is SO much more to come, in the most abundant, cup-overflowing kind of way.

I don’t know exactly what the next decade will look like, and that makes me excited (and a little anxious, if we’re being honest?!).

But if my 20’s taught me anything, it’s that you can build a life you once only dreamed of, even if you have absolutely no idea what you’re doing half the time 😂

Here’s to 30. To growing, building, dreaming bigger, being present for the good stuff, and seeing just how much more this little life of ours can hold.

I have a feeling it’s going to be a good one 🤎🥹

I’ve never been able to put myself, or my passions, in a box — and thank goodness because non-garden season would be awfully boring 🥲

The critters came before the flowers, one did not replace the other, I simply became obsessed with both (and more). I like my cup overflowing 🤎

As we plant their roots this fall, winter will soon blanket them for the months ahead. Beneath the snow + frozen ground, they’ll settle in quietly + gather strength for the beautiful things to come 🌸🤎

And just like that, another peony season comes to a close.
