A small glimpse into the house I decorated that is featured in the Real Housewives of Rhode Island. I spent 4.5 years on this house and a lot of what I did is still there 15 years later.
Techniques included: wall glazing, stencilling, gilding, painted faux mahogany, specialist plastering, to name a few. I created 5 or 6 ceiling designs. It was a real blast working on this house. I loved it!

It's quite strange to not be working. Between painting, cleaning equipment, making samples, doing quotes and going to visit clients, I never had time to do anything!
I've started sewing again. I've been sorting out my arts and crafts supplies with a view to doing something with them. I might take up knitting again, too. I have mild arthritis in my hands and as I needed them to make a living, I gave up knitting.
I made this for my son Thomas and I don't think I did a lot of knitting after that. I really like the pattern, I wonder what happened to it?

Another of my rooms featured on The Real Housewives of Rhode Island. This was the Spa and featured hand stencilled walls and a special sparkly plaster on the ceiling.
I did this room in 2011!
Thank you Diane of MICA Revolution Online Store and Training Center for sending me the screenshots.

Spent 2.5 days training at William Smith, learning to wrap kitchens.
I had a really enjoyable time although it's quite intense learning something new, especially at my age!

Here's some of what I did. A counter and a counter with a sink and a Shaker door.

Another top from the same pattern. Not sure about the frill. It was designed to be made for a single layer of fabric but I realised it wouldn't work as the wrong side of the fabric is white. So I made a facing for it, now I'm not sure it works.

Now that I’ve retired, I feel ready to take on a new project. I recently noticed I already have 169 subscribers on my YouTube channel—even though I haven’t posted anything in two years! It’s made me think that maybe now is the perfect time to start creating some proper how-to videos on decorative painting. After all, I finally have the time.
In the meantime, I’ve taken up sewing again to keep myself busy. I made this top yesterday. My skills are a little rusty, but I’m sure they’ll come back soon.

My friend Ramona messaged me about this new programme on Bravo. The Real Housewives of Rhode Island.
One of them lives in a house that Romona worked on as a Designer and I worked on as a Specialist Painter.
We are watching it to see how much has changed. I imagine quite a lot as it was quite a few years ago.
