Five years ago, we welcomed Anthony to R.A. Rowe.

As a Chartered RIBA Architect, Anthony has brought invaluable expertise across both residential and commercial projects, helping shape not only our designs but the direction of the business as a whole. His dedication to creating high quality architecture has been instrumental in our journey and we’re proud to be a RIBA registered practice as a result.

Alongside Anthony, our directors Darryn and Gareth play an equally important role in leading the practice. Darryn, now in his 16th year, has helped to build the strong foundations we stand on today. Gareth later joined the team, bringing valuable experience from his time at two Devon practices, adding fresh perspective and insight to the business.

Together, their varied strengths, experience, and shared vision continue to drive R.A. Rowe forward, creating a dynamic team that we’re incredibly proud of.

Here’s to everything we’ve achieved together and to what’s still to come.

Sunny views across Bude Marshlands from this open-plan kitchen, dining, and living space.

Natural light pours in, especially in the afternoon, bringing the whole space to life. Great to see the build progressing with windows and doors due for completion. Fantastic attention to detail on the external finishes to date, we cant wait to see the remainder of the traditional external materials to complete the contemporary appearance of the property, in what is a very enviable location.

Budes new Scout Hut!
We are very happy to have gained planning approval for a new Scout Hut.
The multi-use community building at Shorelark Way in Bude will have a flexible multi-use hall, meeting room and kitchen facilities.
The building has been carefully planned to fit seamlessly into its surroundings, respecting nearby homes while connecting with the adjacent park. Thoughtful landscaping and tree planting will help create a welcoming space for outdoor gatherings and activities.

A thoughtfully designed replacement home near Launceston, with sustainability in mind.

The planning process for this new build set in the grounds of a manor house references the existing agricultural buildings that were part of an initial class Q application. The follow up application sought to add a first floor with glazed dormer, and to enhance the design by introducing contemporary materials such as the black standing seam zinc roofing and gable surrounds.
Replacing the former agricultural barn, rather than converting it allows for a more appropriate and energy efficient solution, free from the structural and performance limitations often associated with conversions.

Early new year visit to this one – great progress on the build, the scheme involves the sensitive and sympathetic conversion of this former Victorian railway building to a dwellinghouse. Having once played host to regular SWR train services, the site and buildings have lain derelict since the closure of the south west train lines in 1966. The building is beautifully proportioned finished in face brickwork with a kingpost trussed rafter roof. As chartered RIBA architects we have overseen the sensitive planning and building control applications and will be keeping regular updates as site works progress, making a beautiful home steeped in local history!
