Even the smallest projects deserve the greatest care.

This garage replacement, reimagined as a contemporary outbuilding and holiday let, may be modest in scale, but its setting demanded a thoughtful and sensitive approach. Nestled within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and surrounded by listed buildings, every design decision had to respect and enhance its historic context.

From rebuilding the traditional stone boundary wall, this project demonstrates that great design is often found in the details.

Sometimes it’s the quieter projects that require the most restraint, and we’re proud of the result.

SITE PROGRESS 🦺

The Tree house project is finally off the ground, after many attempts by other agents, we succeeded in gaining planning consent. The challenge for this scheme was due to the site being nestled in between a number of Protected trees; the design places the house on concrete stilts to protect the tree roots and is shaped to work around the light space available within the site. Works are progressing well with Sydenham’s Timber frame manufacturing already taking the house up to first floor level and roof works commencing early next week. We look forward to watching the bespoke contemporary home evolve and if you wish to follow the progress, our clients have created an Instagram page called Laura Currie
