Chattels is a designer furniture store located on City Road in the bustling city of Chester. Our showroom displays a stunning range of contemporary European furniture from renowned manufacturers, including Pianca, Lema, Ligne Roset, B&B Italia, Cattelan Italia and many more. We take great pride and pleasure in sourcing beautifully designed and crafted furniture for living areas, dining rooms and bedrooms. As well as large and occasional pieces of furniture, we stock storage systems, lighting and mirrors to help you create a truly unique home. We also offer a comprehensive interior design service throughout the UK, from conception to completion. This tailored design service will transform both your indoor and outdoor living space. We are able to ship and install goods overseas, as required.

From an idea on paper to a space that feels completely transformed.

There’s something particularly satisfying about seeing a project come together, especially when you can look back at where it all started.

For this recent installation in Tarporley, we designed and installed a bespoke Pianca media wall, alongside carefully selected furniture from Furninova, to create a living space that’s as practical as it is beautiful.

A media wall can do so much more than simply house a television.

It’s an opportunity to introduce useful storage, bring different elements of a room together and create a considered focal point that feels like a natural part of the home.

And that’s where the design process makes all the difference.

From planning the layout and choosing the finishes to coordinating the furniture and completing the installation, every decision helps bring the whole space together.

Sometimes it’s the shape that makes everything around it feel a little different.

The Rumaki Low Table by Ligne Roset brings a curved outline into the seating area, contrasting with the more structured cushions and lines around it. From above, you notice the surface. From the side, it’s the upright details around the base that catch your eye.

That’s why we like to show a piece from more than one angle. A full-room photograph helps you picture the proportions, while a closer look gives you a better sense of the details.

There’s only so much you can learn about furniture from a photograph.

How does it feel when you sit down? How smoothly does that mechanism work? What’s the material like to touch?

Today, Emil from Cane-line visited Chattels to introduce us to pieces from their new collections, giving us the chance to explore new designs, mechanisms, materials and colours up close.

And this is exactly why we love visits from the brands we work with.

We get to ask questions, try things for ourselves and discover the details we know our customers will want to hear about. Often, it’s something you only notice when you take a seat, move a piece or run your hand across a fabric.

It’s another part of the thought that goes into choosing furniture for Chattels. We want to understand how a piece works and feels before recommending it for your home.

There’s something new in the showroom, and it’s already turning heads! 👀

We’ve recently welcomed a new Italian furniture brand to Chattels, COM.P.AR and we couldn’t wait to show you some of their beautiful designs.

Our team has been busy assembling the Arco extending dining table, with its elegant barrel-shaped top, alongside the Loop swivel dining chairs, featuring bronze frames and gorgeous Cognac leather upholstery.

It’s a combination that brings together contemporary Italian design, beautiful materials and everyday practicality.

We particularly love how the Arco table gives you the flexibility to accommodate a few extra guests when you need to, while the Loop chairs offer that little extra freedom of movement that makes sitting around the dining table even more comfortable.

And it seems we’re not the only ones admiring our latest arrivals!

It was lovely to welcome familiar face and long-standing Chattels customer Lisa Curran of Currans Unique into the showroom to have a look.
