I just thought Iād share something with you that I did this week, because for me, it was actually quite a big dealā¦
I stepped out of my comfort zone and decluttered a loft! š³
Now, that might not sound like a huge thing coming from someone who declutters for a living, but Iāll be honest, I donāt like lofts! š
I find them quite claustrophobic, they can be really hot, and sometimes youāre having to bend down or squeeze yourself into awkward spaces. So when I was given this project, I was secretly dreading the loft part!
This was a full-house decluttering project that I started back in July. I worked on it over a few days, then we had a break during August.
On Monday, I went back to continue the project, with my little helper. She was an absolute godsend š
And you know what?
It was absolutely fine! āļø
This particular loft had plenty of standing room, a large window, lots of natural light and, thankfully, a lovely breeze. So it wasnāt anything like the dark, stuffy lofts I had imagined in my head!
It reminded me of something I often say to people on their decluttering journeys:
Sometimes we decide we canāt do something before weāve even tried it.
We build it up in our minds, we worry about it, we dread it⦠and then when we finally take that first step, we realise it wasnāt quite as bad as we thought.
So if thereās an area of your home that youāve been avoiding because you feel you canāt tackle it, perhaps this is your little reminder that you might be more capable than you think. šŖāØ
And remember, you donāt have to do everything at once. Take it one drawer, one cupboard, one box at a time. āļø
