What is a Building Control Drawing Package?

A Building Control drawing package is a set of detailed technical drawings used to ensure your project complies with UK Building Regulations and can be safely constructed.

After planning permission (if required), these drawings provide the technical information builders and Building Control officers need to approve and build the project.

The package typically includes:
• Detailed floor plans with dimensions
• Wall, floor and roof construction details
• Foundation and structural opening details
• Insulation and energy performance information
• Fire safety and ventilation requirements
• Drainage layouts
• Window and door specifications

These drawings are submitted to Building Control for approval before or during construction. Once approved, they are also used by the builder on site to ensure the project is built correctly and meets all regulations.

In simple terms, planning drawings show what the project will look like, while building control drawings explain how it will be built safely and legally
