After 2 1/2 years of tree and hedge work etc. I am back in the office. I loved the work (weather dependant!) and the people I met along my journey. I have given most of my work to a couple of people who have been great. But I will still do the odd job but for charity.... all proceeds will go to https://www.shire-horse.org.uk/donate/

Some seating cut into oak logs for a client and a pagoda from a couple of weeks ago.

A bit of clearing out an old hedge, removing a lot of dead wood and ivy and then laying what was left. Looking forward to seeing how it bushes up in the spring.

I was quite happy sawing up a load of logs and then...... I found a lucky horseshoe - lucky for me as it was on the underside and I missed it by millimetres!!!!

An autumnal morning trimming up some shrubs/bushes and cutting back some ivy by a couple of feet to level the top.

Had a couple of early finishes and was able to being forward cutting these hedges for one of my regular customers.

Nice day for climbing this cherry tree to prune the overhanging boughs back to the boundary.

Finally finished clearing the church yard that I started on a year ago and doing when the church wardens asked me to.

I found the gravestone of G H Thomson who died the day before World War 1 ended. He intrigued me as he has a Commonwealth War Grave and knowing that the soldiers of WW1 were buried where they died and not brought back to their homeland, I looked into this more. Thomson was a driver and farrier who was at Walthamstow Military Hospital helping soldiers with 'flu. He ended up catching 'flu and succumbed to the illness on 10th November 1918. Thank you for your service.
