Staying on top of social media is definitely the part of the job which I neglect most! Going to do a post each day to catch up on what I have been doing (other than falling out of an airplane, turning 41 and going to the dentist twice!). So here is a front door glam up, done in a day for a customer selling their property. They didnt want a total overhaul and the paint is still wet in 'after' pictures so it looks a little streaky. But all in all, a successful job.

How to brighten a tired, dull area that has the walls and ceiling painted grey . . . Paint it yellow and white of course! More specifically, Lick yellow 02. Customer described my work as majestic, which is a first, but I will certainly take that!

Now usually when a customer says 'I've done all the beading/panelling myself', my heart sinks and I resign myself to a day of caulk and sanding. However, not in this case. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that, other than a few repairs to the wall through wear and tear, I could just crack on with the painting!

It was all plain white before which was cold and a little sterile in the space. But the colour combo they chose was excellent and really adds some character to the space. The upper walls were still drying when I took the pictures hence why they still look streaky!

From gloomy green to flawless grey. Love a good kitchen transformation, especially with the cabinet paint that the customers picked (see last slide). Never used it before but the end result was perfect. No orange skin effect and a solid, scratch proof finish. Axus wood finish mini rollers also get a shout out as my new go to. Walls, ceilings, skirtings, door and door frames also painted to create a completely fresh kitchen.

This lovely couple have been living with a cold, bland hall stairs and landing for a couple of years now. They trusted me with bringing some warmth and freshness to the area. Lovely job to complete. Some minor repairs, nice empty space and a couple of crazy cats for occasional company (or just to play around in my floor coverings!). Customers were thrilled and couldn't wait to get their pictures on the walls.

Working on a house over 140 years old is always a pleasure and a joy. The owners being wonderful is an added bonus.

Spent a couple of weeks here stripping a doorframe back down to bare wood, restoring French door latches, sanding and re-waxing counter tops, rescuing distressed window frames and, for a change of pace, painting some ceilings and walls.

Customers said it was perfect, I'll certainly take that. Nearly two years in to being full time now and still love every second of it.

First week back and it was all ceilings! Two jobs here. A bare plaster kitchen and other smaller rooms, plus a bathroom repair where the paint was peeling off. Got them all sorted out with repairs and mist coats etc so they are lovely and fresh again. Seriously though, does anyone actually like Artex? Any fresh plaster job i get is always to remove the damn stuff from ceilings!
