Remember our Flixton Hall project, with planning approval granted for the significant redevelopment and extension of the Main Hall at the Flixton Hall Estate?

PRP Conservation Manager Andrew Smith explains why this type of project is one that makes him want to skip to work!! (His words!)

"The approved plans for this project will reinvent what was once an iconic 17th-century Prodigy House.

Unfortunately the Hall was largely demolished in the 1950s, but tantalizing remains are evident at ground floor level. We used these glimpses of historic details in the design to reinvent this imposing property from the ground up.

This aerial photo from Historic England shows the garden layout in around the 1940s. Although the original garden and formal planting were long gone by this point, we know that renowned landscape designer Nesfield was involved in the 19th Century. Now, there are remains of steps, statues, terraced areas and a potting shed that we hope to bring back to life as part of the extensive redevelopment."

👷Work is underway onsite at St Osyth, Clacton! 👷

PRP have been involved in this project from initial planning design, through working drawings, and now to on-site contract administration. Thanks to our wealth of expertise with holiday and leisure clients, we've been entrusted with the complete redevelopment of the original 1960s caravan site for the new owner. The site will include both caravans and lodges, and the first 27 units will be ready in time for the summer holidays.

Lovely to be undertaking such a development in the sunshine, rather than the depths of winter - roll on the summer! ☀

🎾 Planning approval for new padel courts at Cromer Lawn Tennis & Racquet Club 🎾

North Norfolk District Council has approved our plans for the installation of two padel courts, including a double barrel curved roof canopy to support year round use.

Padel is one of the fastest growing sports in the UK, and we're delighted to support our client to bring these exciting facilities to North Norfolk.

Yesterday we enjoyed a fantastic evening at the Norfolk Constructing Excellence Awards at Royal Norwich Golf Club, celebrating fantastic work across the county.

We were proud to see our Viking Centre project shortlisted for the Regeneration & Retrofit Award, a category that highlights the growing importance of breathing new life into existing buildings. It shows that projects of all scales play a vital role in giving buildings renewed purpose and supporting local communities - just like the former pub turned community hub of The Viking Centre.

Flixton Hall, Suffolk

Planning has been approved for a significant refurbishment and extension of the Main Hall at the Flixton Hall Estate, near B**g

Picking up an original design from a previous architect, PRP's Robert Burr has lead on the new revised application to restore the Hall, which was once the seat of one of the largest estates in Suffolk, back to its former glory and residential use once again.

After significant damage, the Hall was largely demolished in the 1950s, leaving just a shell of the ground floor (image two). The ambitious project is a full restoration, plus the addition of a first-floor pitched roof extension, and a rear flat-roof extension to the southwest corner of the Hall, as well as a comprehensive landscaping strategy for the wider estate.

This artistic impression shows just an insight into the next steps for this ambitious project!

🎉 We're delighted that our clients at Britannia Pier (Long Johns/Pier Tavern) have been named the UK's best pier by the National Pier Society. 🎉

The award praised their commitment to investing in the future of this historic structure, highlighting the significant redevelopment the pier has undergone, especially to its facade.

PRP's continued involvement in this project included designing the refreshed seaside frontage, incorporating inspiration from 1920s and 1930s seaside architecture with features such as the zinc clad rounded turrets and bold raised lettering. The existing single storey amusement building was also demolished and replaced with a larger, modern structure featuring a curved roof design to complement the redesigned frontage.

We're proud to see it recognised with this national award, and look forward to the completion of phase two of the works which will further improve the experience for Great Yarmouth's visitors!

We’re delighted to see our project with Strand Development Ltd come to fruition with these elegant Georgian-style homes.

PRP secured planning permission for four new five-bedroom detached dwellings, designed to complement Framingham House and positively contribute to the housing supply in the sought-after village of Framingham Earl.

We then developed the full Building Regulations package for Strand and provided support as required during construction stage.

A huge credit to the team at Strand for the level of quality and finish they’ve brought to the build. It’s been a pleasure to collaborate and see the designs come to life, ready for their new occupants to enjoy!
