I love seeing the difference a good prune can make. This rose was pruned in March and the second picture is a month later in April. Looking forward to seeing the blooms.

Just finished watching this documentary..very thought provoking.

A really great question was asked- how can we make our homes more heat tolerant for the future ? The advice: plant at least three trees that you can see. Our old house lived under a canopy of trees and although it was a new build (and had good insulation), it was always so cool in the summer. So what trees will you plant this year?

W**d of the week-
Yes it looks very pretty , but this plant Houttuynia cordata, gets everywhere! It has very long roots , which easily break up and re -sprout. Also known as 'fish mint' or 'fish leaf' it's got a very funny or fishy smell 🤣.. Plant with caution!

With this March being one of the driest on record, I’ve been having plenty of conversations with customers about the importance of mulching.
Mulch not only helps suppress w**ds but also reduces water evaporation from the soil — something that's crucial during such dry conditions.
What do you like to use for mulching in your garden?

Do any of your plants hold special meaning for you? I bought this Forsythia when my grandma passed away at the amazing age of 100. I have such fond childhood memories of her garden glowing with these vibrant yellow blooms each spring. I love that it flowers right around her birthday, April 4th — it feels like a beautiful reminder of her every year.

This flower bed demonstrates how invasive cornered leek can be. Extra care was taken to rescue the snowdrops and other bulbs. I'm looking forward to seeing how this flowerbed develops and grows - now the plants have space to thrive ❤️🌷
