Removing a storm damaged Pop from a garden today. The weight biased stem over a distant utility cable meant that felling was not an option on this occasion. HSE working at height (WAH) guidance states that if you can't work from the ground, use a M.E.W.P to access the tree. Consideration for access and ground conditions have to be made before proceeding to use any aerial rope access. On this occasion after assessing the site, we opted for M.E.W.P access only.

Its great to see the progress being made on site at Broadland country park.
We were awarded the contract to clear the way for the extended carpark and footpaths last Feb. We were able to retain vital habitat and create hibernaculum to support wildlife in the area, whilst making the area safe for other contractors and the public.
It's great to see this project coming along nicely.

Exciting progress at Broadland Country Park 🌳

Work on our new visitor facility and café and the South Car Park is moving forward. The visitor facility is on track to open in July 2026, and while the South Car Park remains closed during construction, the newly refurbished North Car Park is open – bigger and better than ever!

Recent updates:
✅ UK Power Networks are trenching along Haveringland Road to provide the electrical supply for the site
✅ The visitor facilities area has been leveled and laid out, ready for structural works in the coming weeks

Thank you for your patience while we create fantastic new facilities for everyone to enjoy! 💚

Dead Leylandii (Cupressus × leylandii) hedge removed and replanted with some healthy, rootball Beech (Fagus sylvatica). These have a much longer shelf life than their predecessors. Even in winter, younger, smaller Beech retain some of their dead foliage even after abscission, providing some additional privacy screening. Now we just need to mulch to help retain moisture in the summer. #

Assessing the site for hazards before starting work is an important part of the job that's often overlooked by many.

The point of a risk assessment is to identify hazards and the risk they pose to both staff, contractors and the public. It's a great opportunity to bring attention to hazards that others might have overseen and formulate a plan to work as safely as possible.

Arboricultural works is inherently dangerous. Hazards include working at height, uneven terrain, chainsaws, noise, large machinery and many more. Proper risk management helps make sure that everyone goes home safe at the end of the day.

All our staff have completed risk assessment courses. To complement this, we provide a method statement for safe systems of work, too. Careful consideration must be taken whilst working adjacent to the highway. The impact our works may have on road users and pedestrians include dust, noise, falling objects and machinery.

Suitable footpath, lane, and road closures should be installed prior to works commencing. This allows our arboricultural technicians to safely and confidently operate within our work area with minimal risk to others.

TM (Traffic management) costs are included within the quotation and priced separately for clarification.
