It shocks me to think the last 10 years have been so consumed by life that I’ve let the simple things drift from me.

I’ve always enjoyed routine. It can help give life a little structure.
I also enjoy habits. And recently I’ve been turning my back on old habits and leaning towards new ones.
I’m also a man of simple taste….. present me with the same meals everyday and I’ll eat them with pleasure.
I genuinely go to bed looking forward to breakfast.

Near everything gets eaten with a spoon 😎

FRESHLY OPENED COFFEE BEANS

I remember growing up and detesting the smell of coffee.
My early memories of the stuff were old folk and figures of authority!
It was nothing but a bad smell and what looked like dirty water.
Fast forward a couple of decades….. I’m in the fortunate position to be working in Italy with some great Italian men.
Un Doppio Espresso, Per favore is all I can hear everywhere I go. So I become intrigued.
But, I don’t jump in the deep end and ask for a double espresso. No, no. I asked for an espresso machiato instead. Which I was looked at as if I had 2 heads!
(It’s now black Americano with a good helping of honey for me)
An espresso with some hot milk it was.
And that very first coffee still smelt bad and looked like dirty water.
Funny how environment and people can help change your views. And to this day I cannot think of anyone better than a freshly opened bag of coffee beans.
I suppose what I’m trying to say is, “life might trigger a couple of your natural senses, but there’s nothing wrong with questioning that”
