A real door repair job completed in Dodworth. 🚪🔧

This door needed a universal MPL fitted after the existing multipoint locking mechanism was checked and assessed.

With this type of repair, the fitting has to be done carefully. The old lock strip was inspected, the replacement multipoint lock was selected, the lock side of the door was checked, and the new MPL was aligned with the existing door hardware.

Once fitted, the door was tested to make sure it opened, closed and locked correctly.

A proper multipoint lock replacement is not just about changing the part - the door alignment, keeps, handle operation and locking points all need to work together.

On many uPVC and composite doors, the lock works as part of a multi-point locking system - which means several parts work together to secure the door.

The handle.
The key.
The cylinder.
The gearbox.
The locking strip.
The hooks or rollers.
The keeps in the frame.
The hinges.

You do not need to know everything — but you do need a strong background in the door and window industry, good practical ability, and a willingness to develop your repair skills.

This is also a customer-facing role, so we are looking for someone professional, reliable, friendly and confident dealing with customers.

The door was checked to see how it was opening, closing and locking before the replacement cylinder was fitted.

Your lock can be strong - but your entry point can still have weak spots. 🚪

Security is not only about what happens at the keyhole.

A door, window or access point works as a full system. That means the lock, frame, keeps, hinges, handles, glass, panels, windows and alignment all matter.

Most people check the obvious part first:

Does the key work?
Does the handle lift?
Does the door close?
Does the lock turn?

Those things matter - but they are only part of the picture.

A real garage door gain entry and lock replacement completed in Malin Bridge. 🔐

The existing garage door lock was checked first before entry work began. Once access was gained, the handle mechanism, spindle connection and lock area were inspected.

The replacement lock was then fitted, the handle alignment was checked, and the garage handle was tested to make sure the new lock operated correctly.
