Situated on a large plot on a quiet road in Pyrford, it was the ideal candidate for remodelling and extending!

Our client purchased the property new, and we were appointed to remodel the ground floor to provide a large kitchen/living/dining space without reducing the length of the lawn. 🌱

We achieved this by carefully rearranging the ground floor and replacing the conservatory with a cavity wall construction to match the rest of the property.

The result? A beautifully spacious area to relax, dine, and entertain - without sacrificing any of the garden.

From Ordinary to Extraordinary!

Our clients had lived in their Dormer Bungalow for 10 years and had outgrown the space. They wanted not only to make the property big enough for years to come, but also to create a smart, modern house that embodied their sense of style and passion for design.

The solution?

Add a full 1st floor in place of the dormer conversion, design a new roof, and change the building's appearance, including part-zinc cladding.

The rooms were all designed to obtain maximum light and provide generous accommodation.

Once your planning permission has been approved, the next stage of your building process is securing builders and suppliers.

For those undertaking their first building project, this can be a nerve-wracking and overwhelming task.

One question we get from clients is "Are you able to develop this space whilst maintaining the building's original character?"

The answer is yes!

MB Architecture were appointed to convert the office spaces in this Grade 2 listed building into 8 apartments.

One of the key features of the brief was to keep the building's character. This included:

✧ London stock yellow-faced gault bricks
✧ Soldier course feature lintels
✧ Sash windows with astragal bars
✧ Iron metalwork

The solution was to minimise external and internal alterations to the building whilst creating sensible, well-designed spaces for each apartment that met modern buyers' requirements, such as open-plan living, lots of natural light, good storage, logical layout, acoustically screened rooms, external cycle storage, and allocated parking.
