Congratulations to Amber and Jia Sing for passing their Part 3 LAM examinations! Anyone who works in this industry will know that becoming a registered professional architect is no small feat. It can take years, and the process can be very tedious and daunting. We’re incredibly proud of them for all their hard work.

At IDCA, we take pride in nurturing our graduate architects and designers to become independent, critical thinkers. Bring it on 2026 - we’re so excited to see all the amazing things you achieve with your new title as Registered Architects !

Congrats again to Amber and Jia Sing ! We are so proud of you 👏

Hey - we know. It’s already February and we’ve been quiet!

The year kicked off fast, and we’ve been busy getting things moving behind the scenes.

Back in January, we actually took a moment to check in and asked our team a simple question: What are you excited about for 2026?

Here’s what they had to say 👀

A small look back at our 2025.

This video brings together some moments (not all cause the video would be too long 👀) that mattered to us this year - projects completed, time spent on site, team moments in between, and one very proud milestone: our MIID REKA Awards 2025 Gold.

Behind every drawing and finished space are real people, long days, site visits, conversations, problem-solving, and a team that genuinely cares about the work we put out.

Thank you to our clients, collaborators and partners for trusting us and growing with us throughout the year.

2025 has been meaningful.
2026 is shaping up to be even more exciting.

Honoured to share that IDC Architects has been awarded GOLD for the Dewan Undangan Negeri Sarawak project at the REKA Awards 2025 by !

This project was never just about designing spaces - it was about respecting context, honouring Sarawak’s identity, and creating interiors that serve people with purpose and care. Huge gratitude to our clients, collaborators, consultants, and the entire IDC team who poured their hearts into every detail.

This recognition reminds us why we do what we do; and pushes us to do even better.

We’re just getting started. More thoughtful spaces, more meaningful work, and more to come. ✨

A little year-end moment with the IDC family. 🎄

We gathered for a cosy Christmas lunch, and earlier in the office we had our Secret Santa exchange which was brought so much laughter and thoughtful surprises.

Feeling really grateful for this team, and the way everyone supports each other through every project and every milestone this year! ✨

As we await the Reka Awards results on 12/12, we’re closing off our DUNS Café series with a few final angles from the deeper end of the space.

These perspectives highlight the stepped service counters, sculpted wall planes and the shift in atmosphere as the café transitions into lounge, dining and bar-height seating zones - all connected through the same layered material language.

Crafted elements, including rattan pieces developed with , continue to anchor the space with warmth and local character.

This post wraps up our 3-part DUNS interior series, and we’re grateful for all the support throughout.

For today’s second DUNS Café posting, we’re taking a closer look at the internal rooms - the quieter pockets tucked behind the main gathering space.

These rooms continue the forested river gully concept, but in a more intimate way. Soft organic lines, warm timber tones and crafted rattan details - give these spaces a gentler, more grounded character.

Designed as calm break-out areas within the State Assembly, these internal rooms offer a sense of enclosure while still carrying the same flowing rhythm seen throughout the café.

We’re excited to share that the interiors for the Dewan Undangan Negeri Sarawak (DUNS) have been selected as a Finalist for the Reka Awards 2025: Design Excellence - Professional Category (Public & Institutional). Thank you to the judges and for the recognition by , and congratulations to all the other finalists - fingers crossed for the results ahead.

To celebrate, we’re continuing our DUNS posting series with the DUN Café, the final component of our 3-part interior refurbishment.

Conceived as a forested river gully, the Café draws from Sarawak’s iconic natural landscapes. From the entrance, the layered ceiling forms echo carved riverbanks, while the perforated canopy above softens the light and guides visitors into the space.

Warm timber tones, rounded built-ins and crafted rattan elements - created in collaboration with - bring texture, warmth and a clear sense of place. This wider view captures the main gathering area, with more intimate rooms and quieter pockets of space tucked further inside.
