ENJOY THE SILENCE

Soundproofing Paradiso allows a quiet garden to unfold outside - where the smallest things become audible again: fragrant planting, rustling leaves, the hum of bees, and gentle water, complementing the music and energy within.

In contrast to the crowds inside, the garden’s intimate scale offers softly lit spaces for one or two; creating a different, yet equally powerful, sense of togetherness with urban nature.

Inside Outside was part of the integral team, led by , shaping a spatial vision to make the legendary pop temple future-proof.

InsideOutside has joined the Vedute Collection of 3D Manuscripts.

A collection that was initiated in 1991, where artists, designers, architects, and other makers visualize their fascination with space in a physical work measuring 44 × 32 × 7 cm in its closed form.

Petra Blaisse and Peter Niessen have created a new manuscript for the collection.

“Before you lies, stands, or falls something that
Changes, Imagines, Conceals, Connects, Disguises, Divides, Doubles,
Embellishes, Enlarges , Explores, Reduces, Discolours, Cuts, Enriches, Exchanges,
Expands, Tells, Fades, Distorts, Softens, and Reconciles.

Thoughtfully pierced and Strategically reflective,
It creates Folds and openings, Rooms and corridors,
Views and light, Connects Inside with Outside,
Below with above, Front with back.

Standing or lying down, Expanded or folded,
and without rigid parts,
we offer Vedute: Elastic Space.”

Petra Blaisse/Inside Outside featured in the July–August issue from

“In the double issue of Domus for July–August, guest editor 2025 Bjarke Ingels focuses on fabric and plastic, two historic supports for architecture, imagining their future political and aesthetic scenarios.
Petra Blaisse enchants us with her reflection on ‘The Emancipation of the Curtain’, recounting how she introduced the idea of movement and change into architecture through textiles, with examples ranging the Kunsthal sound-curtain in Rotterdam to the monumental woven curtains in the LocHal in Tilburg.”

The text is an excerpt taken from the conversation between Tony Côme and Petra Blaisse, published in the book Savoir & faire: les textiles edited by Hugues Jacquet, Actes Sud / Fondation d’entreprise Hermès, 2020, and translated by Domus from French into Italian and English.
