❄️❄️ Looks like its going to be a cold week coming
Some of us had a bit of frost already. 🥶

Good time to check if you have any plants that need an extra protection for winter, start shifting them to a more sheltered area and put a layer of frost cloth over them. This includes citrus (especially if they are still young), others like tamarillo, avocado...etc

These frost cloth bags are great and easy to use👍👍

What a great way to spend the Saturday afternoon after the rain. We couldn’t have asked for a better group. Lots of great questions, plenty of discussion, and a proper hands-on session right at Petra and Jack's garden - Wabi Sabi.

🧄 Think you should plant garlic on the shortest day? Think again…

It’s one of the most common gardening “rules” — but here in Geraldine, it’s not always the best timing 👀

If you’ve ever had small bulbs, poor growth, or disappointing harvests… timing (and variety choice) could be the reason.

👉 This weekend, together with Jack and Petra, we’ll be running a hands-on Garlic Workshop where we’ll cover:
• When to plant (and why the shortest day isn’t always right)
• Hardneck vs softneck — what actually grows best here
• How to get BIG, healthy bulbs
• Soil prep, spacing, and feeding
• Plus tips on storing your bulbs etc

Whether you’re planting your first clove or trying to improve your harvest — this will set you up properly for the season ahead.

Well… it’s fair to say we didn’t quite get the golden summer we were hoping for this year 🌦️
Between the rain, the wind, and the “is it actually summer?” days — the season has flown by!

And just like that, we’re heading into autumn 🍁

With the change of season, we’ll be moving to our Autumn / Winter trading hours from 1st of March.

🕘 Monday – Friday: 10:00am – 4:00pm
🕘 Saturday: 10:00am – 2:00pm
😎Sunday: closed as usual

The good news? Autumn is one of the best times in the garden — perfect for:
• Planting trees & shrubs
• Refreshing perennials
• Sowing winter veg
• Getting those spring bulbs in

🌹 And if you’ve got roses on your wishlist — now is the time to order.
