I got the sweetest handmade gift from Alice the other day. Her beautiful watercolor of our little Swedish cottage. Our special place where time stands still and the world can wait. Soon we will be there again. Can’t wait and hope you’ll follow along.

May moments. From past years. Going through the camera roll was a good reminder to self to stop and breathe. Intentionally slowing down and carving out time for family, self-care, and relaxation is the hardest thing when you’re stuck in the fast lane. I hired a “mom-helper” lately. She fixed our pantry - organized and spotless…. One less stressor checked off the list! Next week she will tackle mudroom closets and storing away winter clothing.
Have a great weekend and don’t forget to get outside and enjoy it.

Here it is. From flat packed to custom built-in in my sons bedroom. Pax + Billy + closing all spaces with trim. Gives it the look of face-frame. Using the forsand doors from ikea in a perfect beige. Matching the door color took some trial and error but the end result is pretty darn perfect if you ask me. If you want the formula just message me and I’ll be happy to send it. Hoping to finish the paint in here today and then we’re off to the final touches

As a Swede, IKEA is in my blood — not always my go-to, but unbeatable for some things.
I was so over this project for our son’s room, but one satisfying night of scribing, caulking and painting made me see the light. One hour here and there — now it looks custom.
Almost done — heart full, hands tired. Can’t wait to show you the final result. I’m using Pax and Billy for this vision. Bookshelf in the center. Closets on each side.

Always a few projects when we’re down at the beach — this time a few stormy days gave us the perfect excuse to hang a gallery wall and touch up the leather chair I painted five years ago. New dining chairs arrived too! Next up: warming the foyer, adding a few kitchen details, and introducing warm wall textures to soften the big room — it can feel a bit boxy sometimes.

Our neighbor gave us their collection of sand dollars before moving to Denver — they said they belonged here by the sea. I turned them into 3D art, adding another layer to the story of our place.
And so just like this, with the things we collect and the memories we make, our place has slowly shifted. Five years ago we bought a vacation apartment; now we call it our second home.
