Here is our September Calendar!

Please note, there are some changes from what was sent out with the water bill. We try our best to give them the most accurate information, but sometimes things change! We are so thankful for Dan Brown for all of his hard work putting the community calendar that goes out together!

Our Board meeting that was schedule for Sept 29th has been moved to Oct 1st!

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS!
It does take a village, or at least a lot of people, for a festival to run smoothly! The Appalachian Heritage Festival in Alderson on October 3 from 10-4 is not an exception. Especially this year, when we are offering so many kids’ games free to the kids. There still needs to be a responsible person to manage the game. There is a wide variety of help you can give. Might be a good opportunity to work with your older children and show them how to give back to the community—in a fun way!
AMS could use one or two more in the AMS booth to sell raffle tickets, shirts/books, answer questions, provide information, and act as Lost and Found, etc.. The bulk of what we need are people to work Friday to move and store the kids’ games in the Depot and to set up the kids’ games Saturday morning. We also need volunteers to staff each game to maintain order and hand out prizes when appropriate. Shifts can be arranged. People can volunteer by contacting Don Sutherland at [email protected]

PLEASE SHARE: Join us on September 11th for our annual Parade of Lights. Prior to the parade a ceremony and candle light vigil will be held at the Underwood Building at the State Fair Grounds.

Our organization would also like to thank the State Fair for allowing us to hold this event at their facility! They are amazing community members!

We will now have a desk attendant to answer questions, give tours, and resolve any issues you may have regarding your gym account. Attendant Hours: Mondays from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Great resource right at home!

It's back to school time. Many of our schedules are dictated by the school schedule, so our class schedule for September reflects it. We've added more chair classes this month. If these times don't work for you, let us know and we can look at tweaking our schedule if the demand and availability are both there. Happy 1st day of school everyone!
