We are honored and incredibly excited to be part of the Emergency Services Expansion at the Alaska Native Medical Center.

Last week, we were proud to join partners, builders, and community leaders in celebrating the topping off of the steel for this iconic facility. Reaching this milestone is a powerful reminder of what collaboration, shared vision, and purpose-driven design can accomplish, and we are grateful to contribute to a project that will have such a lasting impact. We look forward to seeing this expansion come to life in service of Alaska’s communities!

Architects Alaska, in partnership with ZGF, is honored to share that the ANMC Emergency Services Expansion received a Citation Award – Unbuilt Category at the 2025 AIA Alaska Conference in Fairbanks this past weekend. This is the highest award level an AIA Jury can recognize for an unbuilt project.

Conference attendees also have an opportunity to vote for projects submitted for awards in what’s known as “Drive-By-Jury”. Each year, the state conference’s organizers develop a short list of “Alaskan-Centric” awards, sometimes meaningful, sometimes humorous tongue and cheek. This year, our submission was selected (tied with another submission) for the project with the “Most Community Impact”! We’re grateful that this critical infrastructure project was recognized, underscoring the vital role this expansion will play in supporting emergency care for Alaska Native communities.

We are grateful to our partners, Umiaq, AMC Engineers, BBFM Engineers, Inc., RWDI, our clients, the Idaho based AIA jury, and the AIA Alaska community for having received this acknowledgment of excellence, and excited to see this critical infrastructure project be built to serve indigenous peoples of Alaska.

The third annual Building Healthy Kids Toy Drive has come to a close, and we’re beyond grateful for the incredible generosity of our Bozeman AEC community.

Together, 15 firms donated 18 boxes of toys, over 400 pounds in total, and more than $3,000 to support Thrive. These contributions bring joy and creativity to children and families across the Gallatin Valley. The building-themed toys inspire imagination, problem-solving, and teamwork, skills that help kids grow, learn, and thrive.

A huge thank you to all who participated:
Allied Engineering • Allied Concrete • Coffman Engineers • DCI Engineers • Distinctive Lighting • Gallatin Realty Group • Hullabaloo Toys + Novelty Gifts • IMEG Corp. • Kristy Paine • Martel Construction • Morrison Maierle • RJA Engineering • The Great Rocky Mountain Toy Company • Simkins Lumber • Tamarack Grove Engineering • ThinkOne Architects

Your kindness and collaboration continue to show how powerful our industry can be when we come together. Here’s to another year of building healthy kids and stronger communities!
