Cheesy Baked Cabbage Steaks with Meat
Tender cabbage steaks topped with juicy seasoned ground beef, fresh tomatoes, and golden melted cheese! This easy oven-baked dinner is delicious, satisfying, and packed with flavor. Perfect for a simple family meal.

Ingredients (3 Servings)

1 medium green cabbage

¾ lb (340 g) ground beef

3 tbsp mayonnaise

6 to 9 cherry tomatoes, thinly sliced

¾ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 tbsp olive oil

½ tsp salt, or to taste

½ tsp freshly ground black pepper

½ tsp garlic powder (optional)

½ tsp paprika (optional)

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Cabbage

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Remove any damaged outer leaves from the cabbage. Slice it horizontally into 3 thick, round steaks, approximately 1½ inches (3 to 4 cm) thick. Keep the cabbage layers intact.

Step 2: Prepare the Baking Tray

Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange the 3 cabbage steaks in a single layer, leaving space between them.

Step 3: Season the Cabbage

Sprinkle the cabbage steaks with black pepper and lightly drizzle or spray with olive oil.

Step 4: Season the Ground Beef

Place the ground beef in a mixing bowl. Add salt, black pepper, and optional garlic powder and paprika. Mix gently until evenly combined. Divide into 3 equal portions and shape each into a round patty slightly smaller than the cabbage steaks.

Step 5: Add the Creamy Layer

Spread approximately 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise evenly over the top of each cabbage steak.

Step 6: Add the Ground Beef

Place one seasoned raw ground beef patty on top of each cabbage steak. Press gently so the meat sits evenly while leaving a visible cabbage border.

Step 7: Add Tomatoes and Cheese

Arrange 2 to 3 thin cherry tomato slices over each meat patty. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the tops.

Step 8: Bake Until Golden

Transfer the baking tray to the preheated oven. Bake for approximately 30 to 40 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender, the cheese is melted and lightly golden, and the ground beef reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C). Cover loosely with foil if the cheese browns too quickly.

Step 9: Serve and Enjoy

Remove from the oven and let rest for 3 to 5 minutes. Serve warm while the cheese is beautifully melted and the cabbage is tender and juicy.

Helpful Tips

For the best results, cut the cabbage into thick, even rounds so they hold their shape during baking. Avoid making the ground beef patties too thick to ensure even cooking.

Golden melted cheese, juicy beef, and tender cabbage in every bite!

Creamy Baked Mac and Cheese

INGREDIENTS

For the Macaroni:

1 lb (450g) elbow macaroni

Water for boiling

1 tsp salt

For the Creamy Cheese Sauce:

2 cups heavy whipping cream

1 cup whole milk

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

4 slices processed American cheese

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp black pepper

Salt to taste

For the Cheesy Layers and Topping:

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 1/2 cups shredded white cheese (mozzarella or Monterey Jack)

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Cook the Macaroni

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook for 1 to 2 minutes less than the package instructions. Drain well and set aside.

Step 2: Prepare the Creamy Base

Place a large sauté pan over medium-low heat. Pour in the heavy cream and whole milk. Warm gently while stirring, without allowing the mixture to boil.

Step 3: Add the Seasonings

Sprinkle in the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Stir until the seasonings are evenly incorporated.

Step 4: Melt the Cheeses

Gradually add the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese. Place the American cheese slices into the sauce and stir continuously over low heat until everything melts into a thick, smooth, glossy golden cheese sauce.

Step 5: Coat the Macaroni

Add the cooked elbow macaroni directly to the cheese sauce. Gently fold and stir until every piece is completely coated in the rich, creamy mixture.

Step 6: Assemble the First Layer

Lightly grease a large oval ceramic baking dish. Spoon in half of the creamy macaroni and spread evenly across the bottom.

Step 7: Add the Middle Cheese Layer

Sprinkle a generous mixture of shredded cheddar and mozzarella over the first macaroni layer.

Step 8: Add the Second Macaroni Layer

Spoon the remaining creamy macaroni over the cheese, spreading it evenly to completely cover the middle layer.

Step 9: Create the Ultimate Cheesy Topping

Sprinkle the remaining cheddar and mozzarella evenly over the macaroni. Finish with a thick, generous blanket of shredded white cheese, covering the entire surface.

Step 10: Bake Until Golden

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake uncovered for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted, bubbling around the edges, and beautifully golden brown on top.

Step 11: Rest and Serve

Remove from the oven and allow the mac and cheese to rest for 5 to 10 minutes. Break through the golden crust with a large serving spoon, scoop out a generous portion, and watch the creamy macaroni and melted cheese stretch beautifully!

TIPS FOR PERFECT MAC AND CHEESE

Shred your own cheese for a smoother, creamier sauce.

Avoid overcooking the pasta because it will continue cooking in the oven.

Keep the heat low when melting cheese to prevent the sauce from becoming grainy.

For extra creaminess, don't overbake.

Let it rest briefly before serving so the cheesy layers hold together.

Garlic Potato Pops Recipe
Crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, these Garlic Potato Pops are seasoned with garlic, paprika, and herbs, then air-fried until golden brown and tossed in delicious garlic herb butter.
35 minutes
4 servings
Air Fryer

Ingredients
For the Potato Pops:
- 3 medium potatoes (about 500 g), peeled and boiled
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper (optional)
- Olive oil spray, for crisping
For the Garlic Herb Butter:
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 3 garlic cloves, finely minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
- ½ teaspoon dried Italian herbs
- ¼ teaspoon salt, or to taste
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Potatoes
Peel the potatoes, cut them into chunks, and boil in salted water for 15 to 20 minutes, or until fork-tender. Drain thoroughly and allow them to cool slightly so excess moisture evaporates.
Step 2: Make the Potato Dough
Place the boiled potatoes into a large mixing bowl. Add salt, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, and cornstarch. Mash everything together using a fork until the mixture forms a smooth, soft dough without large lumps.
Step 3: Shape the Potato Pops
Take small portions of the potato mixture and roll them between your palms into bite-sized balls, approximately 1 inch in diameter. Arrange them on a clean plate, keeping them evenly sized for consistent cooking.
Step 4: Air Fry Until Crispy
Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 3 minutes. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil.
Arrange the potato balls in a single layer, leaving space between them. Lightly spray the tops with oil.
Air fry for 15 to 20 minutes, gently shaking the basket halfway through, until the potato pops are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
Step 5: Prepare the Garlic Herb Butter
While the potato pops are cooking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 to 60 seconds until fragrant, without browning. Stir in the parsley, Italian herbs, and salt. Remove from heat.
Step 6: Coat the Potato Pops
Transfer the freshly cooked potato pops into a large bowl. Pour the warm garlic herb butter over them. Using two wooden spoons, gently toss until every potato pop is evenly coated with the flavorful butter.
Step 7: Serve
Serve immediately while hot and crispy. Garnish with additional chopped parsley if desired.
Tips for Perfect Garlic Potato Pops
- Drain potatoes well: Excess moisture can make the dough sticky and prevent crisping.
- Adjust the texture: If the dough is too soft, add another tablespoon of cornstarch.
- Avoid overcrowding: Cook in batches if necessary to ensure even browning.
- Serve immediately: The potato pops are crispiest right after air frying.
- Use fresh garlic: Freshly minced garlic gives the butter coating a richer flavor.

Air Fryer Hash Brown Breakfast Cups

These come out crispy and deeply golden around the edges, with a creamy, cheesy center. I adapted the recipe in your image specifically for the air fryer and left out the bacon.

Ingredients
10 oz frozen shredded hash browns, partially thawed
4 tbsp mayonnaise
3 tbsp sour cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp ranch seasoning
1/4 tsp salt, or to taste
1/4 tsp black pepper
Cooking oil spray
2 tbsp chopped green onions or chives
Extra sour cream, for serving
Instructions
Prepare the hash browns: Partially thaw the shredded hash browns. Squeeze out excess moisture with clean paper towels so the cups become crispy.
Make the filling: Add the hash browns to a large bowl. Mix in mayonnaise, sour cream, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder, ranch seasoning, salt, and black pepper until everything is evenly coated.
Shape the cups: Generously spray silicone muffin cups or small air-fryer-safe muffin molds with cooking oil. Divide the hash brown mixture between about 6 cups. Press the mixture firmly against the bottom and slightly up the sides, leaving a shallow indentation in the center.
Air fry: Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3 minutes. Place the molds in the basket without overcrowding.
Cook for 15 to 20 minutes, until the tops are golden and the outside edges are dark golden brown and crispy. Exact cooking time will depend on your air fryer and the size of the cups.
Extra crispy finish: Increase the temperature to 375°F (190°C) and air fry for another 2 to 4 minutes, watching closely so the edges don't burn.
Let the cups rest in their molds for 3 to 5 minutes. Carefully lift them out.
Add a small spoonful of sour cream in the center and finish with chopped green onions or chives.
Press the hash browns firmly against the sides of each mold and leave the center slightly lower. This creates those crispy, shredded potato edges with the soft cheesy center and sour cream sitting neatly on top.
