The first round of bad storm has moved through our area. Unfortunately, the 150 sq ft. plant took some damage. The main broke right behind the pumpkin. What a shame. I will try to salvage the plant by turning one of the other vines into the main. It takes valuable time that could have been used to grow the pumpkin 😞

Hsu Growing Supply is proud to support Laird, a Wisconsin giant pumpkin grower, as he works toward growing record sized pumpkins, tomatoes, and other fruits and vegetables.

Giant pumpkin growing takes serious skill, patience, and a whole lot of soil. As the vines grow, soil is tucked along the vine to help new roots develop and support the massive amount of water and nutrients these plants need.

We’re excited to follow along this season and see HSU Growing Supply products play a part in something pretty giant.
