Our client wanted an office where he felt inspired to get to work every day. A former joint study room for his daughters transformed into an adults-only, style-drenched space, with custom built-ins and a handcrafted live-edge wood desktop. The ceiling boasts graphic ceiling wallpaper by Omexco to train the eye upward. Soft window treatments and a custom-cut rug give the space a cozy vibe; paired with a comfortable armchair in the corner makes for a workspace designed to feel as good as it looks.

Our clients—busy working professionals with three children and demanding careers—wanted a space for entertaining that felt elevated, but cozy.

We color drenched the room in a warm, chocolatey brown, layered in performance materials for durability, and added luxe details like a ceiling medallion, a gilded light fixture, and soft neutral draperies. These elements frame the view beyond, allowing the the woods outside the windows to be a central player while creating a warm, grown-up atmosphere—one that still leaves room for a spontaneous game of dominoes.

In this Bethesda mudroom, we took an elevated and whimsical approach to the utilitarian drop zone, adding storage to hide sports equipment and backpacks, with drawers for stray notebooks and toys, set against a backdrop of Schumacher wallpaper and pom pom tassels. Because even the most utilitarian spaces can bring joy when you walk through the door.

The Tournay Road project is featured in Volume I of Modern Luxury’s Interiors magazine, and I’m feeling so much gratitude and joy right now!

This project was a beautiful collaboration — site visits, decisions, revisions, and thoughtful problem-solving along the way. To see it recognized and shared in this way feels incredibly special.
