Black and white sounds simple.

But a beautiful black + white space isn’t about picking two colors and calling it a day.

It’s about tone, texture, warmth and contrast.

A little movement in the rug.
The right wood tone to soften the palette.
Stone that brings in natural variation.
Fabrics that keep the room from feeling flat.

This is the part of design that happens long before anything makes it into the room.

The palette has to work together before anything gets ordered.

Apparently, chartreuse is having a moment. 💚

But my love affair with this color started long before it started popping up all over my feed.

I’ve been incorporating chartreuse into my design projects for years, there’s just something about it. It’s energetic, joyful, unexpected, and it can completely change depending on what you put next to it.

Color doesn't have to be predictable to be beautiful.

From bold wallpaper, pillows, a playful fabric, rug, or accessories, it's all about finding the right balance and the right mix.

THE DESIGN CASE FILE 🔎

This room wasn’t working for this young family.

The furniture felt heavy and dated.
The scale and open layout created a challenge.

And then there was the AC return. 😏

The solution wasn’t simply to replace the furniture.

It was about rethinking scale and balance to create a defined space within the open floor plan, while finding a way to work with the architecture.

The result?

A dining room that feels lighter, calmer, and intentional.

Because great design isn't just about making a room look beautiful.

It's about solving the problems so your home works for you and the way you want to live.

There are hundreds of beautiful options out there.

My clients don't need to see all of them.

They need me to know which ones are right for their home.

That's a big part of what I do: editing, refining, comparing, and eliminating until we're left with the pieces that feel intentional, cohesive, and completely right.

Good design is about solving problems, knowing which choices to make, and where to spend.

And yes… the research ALWAYS requires getting in the tub.
