From drab to dynamic: A fully custom walnut wall

We developed a new interior architecture plan for this millwork wall, creating symmetry through a new archway leading into the entry and a custom built in designed to balance the composition.

Chrome detailing between the walnut panels adds another layer of visual interest and highlights the verticality of the wall.

We also resurfaced the fireplace in an ocean inspired blue gray marble, introducing natural movement and contrast against the warmth of the walnut.

The result completely transformed the room and remains one of our favorite before and after transformations.

New Blog Drop! How to Renovate Without Dating Your Home

A home renovation is a significant investment. The goal should not be to create an interior that looks current for the next few years. It should be to create a home that continues to feel relevant long after today’s biggest design trends have changed.

For homeowners this is particularly important. Many of the homes we renovate already have a strong architectural identity. Boston brownstones, historic townhouses, coastal homes and established suburban residences often benefit from thoughtful modernization rather than complete reinvention.

Timeless interior design does not mean playing it safe or avoiding personality. Some of the most enduring interiors use dramatic stone, expressive lighting, rich woods, unusual artwork and unexpected color. The difference is that those decisions are connected to the architecture and the people living there rather than a passing trend.

Where furniture and lighting become one.

We designed the custom credenza specifically around the sculptural Bec Brittain BEC BRITTAIN fixture, allowing the pendant to dip down and interrupt the cabinet’s form. Contrasting wood grains, unexpected curves, sculptural negative space, and a lucite base play against the sharp, angular geometry of the light above.

The result is bold, edgy, and entirely one of a kind, much like our fabulous client.

Patchwork in Prismatic

A collection of fragments, brought together to create something entirely its own.

Patchwork explores the beauty of layering, overlapping shapes, unexpected color, and the imperfect geometry that makes a composition feel collected rather than constructed. In Prismatic, those elements come alive through a vibrant palette that shifts across the surface, creating movement and depth from every angle.

Part of Foundations, my collection created in collaboration with Landry & Arcari, Patchwork is a reminder that the most interesting spaces often come from bringing unexpected pieces together.

Fusions is about finding balance in the unexpected: where shapes overlap, colors shift, and individual elements come together to create a composition greater than the sum of its parts.

Sun-drenched in the city. ☀️

Perched on the top floor of a luxury condominium in Boston’s South End, this penthouse is flooded with natural light throughout the day. Expansive windows capture the changing light and frame views across the city.

Natural light in the city is a game changer, but an abundance of it also requires thoughtful design decisions. Direct sunlight can fade fabrics, discolor natural materials, damage artwork, and alter wood finishes over time. We consider these conditions early in the design process, specifying performance fabrics, fade resistant materials, and finishes that can better withstand prolonged exposure.

Window treatments also become an important layer of protection. UV protecting roller shades help reduce damaging rays, while light filtering sheers soften intense sunlight without sacrificing the brightness or views that make the penthouse so special. Blackout shades provide another level of control in bedrooms and other spaces where complete light management is important.

Bright natural light also influences color and material selection. Colors can appear dramatically different in strong daylight, while reflective surfaces, metals, stone, and glass can amplify glare. Balancing matte and reflective finishes, warmer tones, and varied textures allows us to embrace the sunlight rather than compete with it.

The goal is not to block the light. It is to control it, protect the interior from it, and use it as another material within the design.

New Blog is live! Here are eight interior design trends I see shaping Fall 2026.

Fall has always influenced how we experience our homes. As the days get shorter and life moves back indoors, we naturally become more aware of color, texture, lighting and how a room makes us feel. For Fall 2026, interior design trends are moving beyond predictable seasonal decorating and toward something much more lasting.

Across Boston and the surrounding communities of homeowners are investing in interiors that feel warmer, more personal and increasingly connected to natural materials. Instead of changing a home for one season, the best fall interior design ideas can influence how a space looks and functions throughout the year.
