It all began in 1955 when our company’s namesake, a rugged, avid fisherman named Bill McGuckin, opened the doors of McGuckin Hardware. Employing four people in four departments, his success was based on his belief in personalized service, selection and first-hand experience. In 1960, Dave Hight became a partner in McGuckin Hardware with his father-in-law, Bill. Together they sought to create a qua

lity hardware store with a reputation for excellent service and selection. Working from this solid base, Dave has carried on McGuckin Hardware’s dedication to service since Bill’s death in 1966. Staying within a block of its original location in Boulder, McGuckin Hardware has continued to grow. We currently employ around an average of 250 people in 18 different departments ranging from Garden to Housewares to Automotive – just to name a few. With all of the growth, McGuckin Hardware continues to strive to meet Bill’s goals of providing personalized service, selection, and first-hand experience.

🔥 Did you know that exactly 50 years ago, Big Green Egg founder Ed Fisher started cooking chicken wings outside his store in Atlanta as a lure to customers? The demand for his newly minted kamado-style grills soared as a result, and a global culinary sensation was born!

Celebrate outdoor cooking history on your own EGG this weekend with Ed Fisher's Famous Chicken Wings. 🍗✨

Stop by McGuckin Hardware to pick up your Big Green Egg lump charcoal, ConvEGGtor, and authentic BGE rubs and sauces before you fire things up!

Prep time: 10 mins | Cook time: 45-55 mins | Servings: 2-4

🛒 INGREDIENTS:
2 lbs chicken wings (drums and flats separated)
3 tbsp olive oil
Big Green Egg Savory Pecan Rub
Big Green Egg Ed’s Famous Wing Sauce

🛠 EQUIPMENT NEEDED:
Big Green Egg ConvEGGtor (for indirect cooking)
Big Green Egg EGGspander (optional, great for dual-level cooking!)

🔥 DIRECTIONS:
1️⃣ Set up your EGG: Set up your Big Green Egg for indirect cooking with the ConvEGGtor. Your target temperature is 400°F (204°C).
2️⃣ Prep the wings: Pat the wings dry, coat them evenly with olive oil, and season generously with Big Green Egg Savory Pecan Rub.
3️⃣ Cook: Place the wings on the EGG grid (use two levels of the EGGspander if you have one to avoid overcrowding). Close the dome and let them cook for 20 minutes untouched.
4️⃣ Rotate: Check the wings. Flip and move them around as needed to ensure even cooking (wings closer to the heat source will cook faster). Leave for another 20 minutes.
5️⃣ Check Temp: Look for a beautiful bronze color, tightened skin, and an internal temperature above 165°F (74°C).
6️⃣ Sauce & Serve: Remove the wings, place them in a large mixing bowl, pour over Ed's Famous Wing Sauce, and toss to coat beautifully. Serve hot!
