By day, it is experienced as a café and meeting place, by evening an events venue. 🌆

Above Flavor Paper ‘s Boerum Hill headquarters, a sweeping tapestry of greenery unfolds every year.

Inspired by the wallpaper company’s eclectic sensibilities, our design balances efficiency, resiliency, and ecological symbiosis, with intensive green roof infrastructure buffering the city’s stormwater systems.

Summer is when the skymeadow is at its fullest, overflowing with native grasses and wide-leaf perennials. 🌿

Defining space with pergolas. 📐

Through careful material choices depending on the project, we design pergolas to work with the surrounding garden, at times offering shade, structure, and a framework for vines to grow into over time. In our work, function and beauty are not separate; they meet in structures designed with the people who use them in mind.

Tribeca Courtyard: A pergola trained with vines turns an open courtyard into a dining room. 🌱

Modern Woodland Escape: With the pergola set up against the natural landscape, this pergola was built to feel like an outdoor room. 🌳

Chelsea Hotel Spa: Above the city, this pergola frames a place marked by retreat, making the rooftop feel enclosed, not exposed. 🏙️

A retreat, a place to gather, a new kind of hospitality within the city. 🏙️🌳

By bringing trees and plants to Zoli’s rooftop, VERDANT recharges life in an industrial urban environment. An intensive green roof system brings the benefits of stormwater management and rooftop sustainability to the space. A meadow above the city, inviting you in with movement and life. ☀️🌱

Designed in collaboration with Amant and GRT Architects, this new landscape was built, installed, and planted last summer in preparation for The Amant Foundation’s new restaurant, Zoli.

The meadow rises and falls across the deck, creating varied plant heights and shifting viewpoints as you move through the space.

We’re thrilled to share recent photographs of an immersive rooftop urbanscape realized by VERDANT, GRT Architects, and Amant.

The native meadow at Zoli features a broad range of resilient trees, shrubs, and grasses set against an industrial Brooklyn neighborhood. Native plants like bayberry, hop-hornbeam, sumac provide shade while creating a windswept aesthetic. Strategically placed to ebb and flow with the seasons, we created an ever-changing environment at Zoli that enriches the dining experience. 🌱

Bar Zoli is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings, offering a place to unwind surrounded by a lush urbanscape, with incredible food to match. Come by soon to check it out!
