Hard at work on our latest project in the L scetion of Palm Coast!! The first phase was the addition and since we are 70% done we have started phase 2, pool time!!! We are as excited as our homeowner and almost as excited as the kids are for the end result!!! Stay tuned for updates as both projects continue! This project came out absolutely beautiful from start to finish. Every phase of the build was carefully planned and the transformation speaks for itself.

Our customer had a very clear vision and paid close attention to every detail throughout the entire process, from the layout and finishes to the final touches that made this pool truly one of a kind. We worked hand in hand to bring that vision to life, and the end result turned out incredible.

Did you know the steel in a swimming pool is what gives the structure its strength for decades to come?

Before gunite is ever sprayed, every piece of rebar is carefully placed and tied to engineer specs. This steel framework is designed to handle ground movement, water pressure, and the overall structural load of the pool.

A proper steel inspection is important because once the shell is shot, everything behind the concrete is locked in forever. Cutting corners during this phase can lead to cracks, structural issues, and costly repairs down the road.

That’s why we take our time to make sure every detail is right and inspected by our team before moving forward. 💪

🌊 Teaching Tuesday: Choosing the Right Pool Plaster Color Matters More Than You Think 🌊

When designing your dream pool, plaster color is one of the biggest decisions you’ll make, not just for appearance, but for long-term maintenance too.

Lighter finishes like Blue Gem or Sky Blue ect.. give pools that bright, clean, tropical water look and tend to be much more forgiving over time. Darker finishes like Hawaiian or Lagoon create a rich lagoon style appearance with deeper water tones, but they also require significantly more care and attention after startup.

Here’s why 👇

🔹 Darker plaster shows everything more easily
Just like a dark-colored car, darker pool plaster highlights:
• Calcium spotting
• Mottling
• Startup streaking
• Scale buildup
• Dust and debris
• Chemical imbalance marks

🔹 Aggressive startups are required on a darker Florida gem stucco plaster finish to help remove plaster dust and properly expose the finish evenly. Water chemistry during the first 28 days is critical.

🔹 Weekly stain & scale prevention is recommended
For darker finishes such as Hawaiian or Lagoon, many professionals recommend adding an all-purpose stain and scale preventative weekly to help minimize:
• Metal staining
• Calcium spotting
• Surface discoloration

🔹 Florida water conditions matter
Florida pools deal with:
☀️ Intense UV exposure
💧 Hard fill water in many areas
🌧️ Heavy rain dilution
🌴 Organic debris and tannins

All of these can impact darker plaster finishes faster if chemistry is not maintained consistently.

🔹 Consistency is key with darker colors
Darker plaster requires:
✔ More brushing during startup
✔ Tighter water chemistry control
✔ Regular calcium monitoring
✔ Consistent maintenance routines

That doesn’t mean darker finishes are bad, they’re beautiful when maintained properly but homeowners should understand the added responsibility before choosing them.

👉 If you want a lower-maintenance finish, lighter colors like Blue Gem or Sky Blue are generally more forgiving.
👉 If you love the dramatic lagoon look of Hawaiian or Lagoon, just be prepared for the extra upkeep that comes with it.

A beautiful plaster finish starts with proper installation, proper startup, and consistent water chemistry. 🏝️💦
