Our $9.99 Mega Mums were such a big hit over the weekend, we got another truck load in yesterday & they’re already flying out the door!

Many of you have asked if they’re hardy, so we went right to our grower with the question. The answer is yes *but* success depends on several factors including your soil type, planting date, & planting location.

Here are our grower’s tips for getting these hardy mums to come back in the spring if you plant them in the fall:

📌Mums grow best in well-drained soil enriched with organic matter.

📌They need at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily.

📌Ask us for starter fertilizer to help their roots grow.

📌Plant them as early as possible so their roots have time to grow deep into the soil before the first frost or freeze.

📌Planting near a house with southern exposure also improves winter survival.

📌 Don’t prune dead top growth or stems after the first frost. Leaving them on the plant helps protect the plant through the winter.

📌Add a 2 to 3-inch layer of mulch, leaves, or grass clippings around the base of the mum to protect the roots from winter freeze-thaw cycles.
