Happy Tomato 🍅 Tuesday!

Today’s tomato is the Black Cherry! Sometimes also referred to as the large black cherry tomato, these prolific plants will give you a bountiful harvest all season long! With large plants you want to make sure to give them plenty of space to grow, but once you try them you won’t want to give them up! Super sweet and with great flavor these will quickly become a favorite of your garden, and you might need more than one for any tomatoes to make it inside your house!

Its First Time Fridays!

Today is Mexican Sunflower! This beautiful plant attracts so many butterflies and bees, and I’ve even seen a hummingbird interested in it! They do get big so make sure you pick the right spot but it is so worth it. These will be covered in beautiful orange blooms all summer long! Make sure to stop by and get yours next year!

How many of you had milkweed that looked like this?

While it may look a little sad, we love seeing our milkweed like this! It means that there were plenty of caterpillars munching on it. We even found a chrysalis! As the monarchs start to migrate south we will see fewer and fewer of them while it’s sad to see them go, it was so much fun to have so many flying around this year!

Happy Tomato 🍅 Tuesday

Today we have Purple Ruffles Basil! This delicious basil has a flavor profile similar to a traditional green Genovese style basil but with some fancy purple leaves. Great to use anywhere you would use Basil or if you want to add a little flair to a dish!

Its First Time Fridays!

Today we are highlighting zinnias! While we have had zinnias in the past this year we added some new selections. We love our State Fair, Dreamland, and Profusion zinnias, however there are so many more to check out as well! They come in all sorts of colors, sizes, and shapes. This year we had several varieties of Queeny, some single color options of Dreamland, Benary’s Giant, and Seed Savers mix. Next year we plan to add even more! They are great in a regular garden bed, in a cut flower garden, and they look amazing in a flower arrangement! The zinnias in our cut flower garden are still looking great so if you need a fun weekend activity stop by and make yourself a bouquet!

The temps are starting to get a little lower which means fall is right around the corner!

Our mums are starting to show some color and we are starting to move them down to retail. While they aren’t in full bloom these early mums will be fully blooming in a week or two. We have mums that bloom at different times so if you need a refresher now or in a month we have you covered!
