Sherwin Williams Repose Gray isn't as popular as it once was, but it's still a great greige choice that has SOME warmth, but it doesn't ever go pink, yellow, orange, or even completely beige.
Repose Gray CAN have a blueish undertone that doesn't really make sense on paper, so bear that in mind!

Here are my favorite colors from Sherwin Williams that closely dupe the look and feel of Benjamin Moore and Behr Swiss Coffee! 🤍☕

A wall can be covered in perfect drywall and still be badly framed underneath if the layout drifts, the openings are weak, or the top plates do not carry the load cleanly. This framing example shows what has to be right before the wall is hidden: evenly spaced studs, full-height members holding the wall line straight, double top plates tying the assembly together, and dedicated framing around every window and door opening.

The details affect every trade that follows. Clean stud spacing distributes loads, gives drywall and trim reliable backing, and reduces wasted cuts. Headers and support studs move weight safely around openings instead of leaving weak gaps in the wall. Aligned framing also gives electricians and plumbers a predictable path through the build. Good walls are not created by covering mistakes with finishes. They start with a layout that stays accurate from one end to the other. A sloppy wall frame becomes everyone else’s problem later.

Compound Miter Saw Settings for Crown Moulding

This technical infographic illustrates the complex geometry involved in cutting crown moulding using a "flat cut" method on a compound miter saw. Unlike cutting moulding nested against the fence, the flat cut method relies on precise mathematical calculations for both the miter (horizontal angle) and the bevel (vertical tilt) to ensure that the trim sits correctly against both the wall and the ceiling. The guide specifically focuses on standard 52/38 crown moulding, providing the specific degrees required to achieve seamless inside and outside corner joints.

Key Components & Features

Spring Angle Geometry: The diagram shows the moulding positioned at a 38
∘ angle to the wall and a 52 ∘ angle to the ceiling, which defines the standard slope of the trim profile.

Corner Identification: A visual map distinguishes between Inside Corners (where walls meet at an inward angle) and Outside Corners (where walls meet at a protruding corner).

Miter and Bevel Settings:

Right Outside / Left Inside: Requires a clockwise miter of 31.6
∘ and a clockwise bevel of 33.9 ∘ .

Right Inside / Left Outside: Requires a counter-clockwise miter of 31.6
∘ and a counter-clockwise bevel of 33.9 ∘

Orientation Indicators: The guide specifies the placement of the "Crown top edge" and "Crown bottom edge" relative to the saw fence to ensure the profile is not cut upside down.

Directional Indicators: Visual arrows show the specific rotation and tilt directions for the saw blade assembly to prevent common cutting errors.

Overall Interpretation

The infographic serves as a critical reference for carpenters and DIY enthusiasts, simplifying the non-intuitive math required for compound cuts. By laying the moulding flat, the user gains more stability during the cut, but must strictly adhere to the 31.6
∘ miter and 33.9 ∘ bevel presets. This system ensures that the complex decorative profiles align perfectly at the miters, transforming a difficult architectural task into a repeatable, technical process.
