When our clients asked for a luxurious primary ensuite as part of the addition to their historic Charlotte home, our response was simple—absolutely! Let’s revisit the architectural plans and make it happen.

We thoughtfully reworked the space to accommodate everything on their wish list—a beautiful soaking tub, an oversized shower, and a custom double vanity in a color we created specifically for them, with plenty of storage to keep everything organized.

But it’s the details that make a space truly personal. We designed the shower with individual fixtures and controls to accommodate each of their preferences, and carefully specified the tile layout and installation to ensure every detail was just right.

The end result? A fabulous primary ensuite that feels like a luxury retreat, designed around the way they live and one they both absolutely love.

That’s the beauty of being involved from the architectural planning phase. We have the opportunity to create spaces that aren’t just beautiful, but truly customized for the people who call them home.

A place for everything, including our guests!

When designing our Skyecroft drop zone, we wanted to create a space that was just as welcoming for friends and family as it was functional for everyday living.

We intentionally carved out a dedicated hang zone where guests could leave their coats, handbags, and personal belongings when visiting. No searching for a place to put things or piling coats on a bed!

Custom cabinetry provides concealed storage, while a built-in desk, open shelving, and charging station make this hardworking space as practical as it is beautiful.

It’s these thoughtful details, planned during the architectural design phase, that make a home feel effortless to live in and welcoming to everyone who walks through the door.

Beautiful design isn’t just about how a home looks. It’s about how it lives.

A home away from home. 🤍

For our Skyecroft project, we wanted our clients’ daughter and son-in-law to have a special place to relax and unwind whenever they came to visit. One of our favorite details is the custom vaulted ceiling, clad in poplar and finished in a soft whitewash. It brings so much warmth, character, and architectural interest to the room. Paired with cozy textures and soft, inviting furnishings, this space feels like the perfect little retreat.

A pantry that works just as hard as the kitchen—and looks fabulous doing it! 💚

Our clients love to entertain, so this pantry needed to do more than store groceries!

We designed it to accommodate private chefs and catering for large gatherings, with a backup refrigerator, generous prep space, deep shelving for oversized pots and pans, and plenty of organized storage.

And, of course, a few secret stashes for the husband’s favorite snacks! 😉

A classic checkerboard floor, warm woven baskets, brass accents, and open shelving bring function and personality together.

And can we talk about that COLOR?! 💚

Proof that even the hardest-working spaces deserve thoughtful design and a little personality!

A love of travel, photography, and BOLD color! 💜💚🧡

Our clients wanted a home that reflected their personalities, their travels, and their love of vibrant color, while still feeling warm, inviting, and timeless.

We started with a foundation of soft neutrals to ground the space, allowing their favorite colors to take center stage. Rich purples, beautiful greens, and vibrant orange (his favorite!) bring energy and personality into the room without overwhelming it.

We layered in fun (Slim Aaron’s) photography, collected treasures from their travels, custom furnishings, and thoughtful details that tell their story.

The result? A home that’s colorful, collected, and uniquely theirs.

Because timeless design doesn’t have to mean playing it safe with color!

This BEDROOM! Soothing and vibrant at the same time! Our clients love color so we brought it in a way that still allowed for their bedroom to be a relaxing space at the end of the day.

Pale blue on the ceiling anchored by a neutral bed and turquoise nightstands. They wanted comfy chairs to watch TV or read a book so we upholsters these custom swivel chairs in a pretty chenille and designed a custom kidney shaped ottoman. And finished off the room with a gorgeous blown glass chandelier.

Sometimes, the most interesting spaces begin with the cabinetry.

When designing for our clients, I often start by creating a custom cabinetry design that is uniquely theirs—something thoughtful, unexpected, and tailored to the way they live.

For this guest powder bath, we wanted a more utilitarian aesthetic while still creating a space that felt elevated, inviting, and full of personality.

We introduced wide horizontal wall boards in a soft, neutral palette, allowing the deep green custom vanity to set the tone. Concrete tile floors ground the entire space, bringing an understated, organic quality that complements the clean lines and utilitarian feel of the design.

Warm brass hardware adds a beautiful contrast, while the simple yet interesting glass pendants (which took us quite some time to find!) bring just the right amount of detail without overwhelming the space.

And those bold golden yellow hand towels? The perfect little pop of color to finish it off!

It’s a reminder that even the smallest spaces deserve thoughtful design. Sometimes it’s the unexpected details that make a room feel truly special.

When our clients asked us to create a luxurious primary bathroom retreat on their gorgeous Kings Mountain property, we immediately knew what we needed to design. A space that would feel like a private sanctuary, thoughtfully planned around their lifestyle, with all the amenities of a luxury spa.

1. A Fabulous Soaking Tub
Positioned directly in front of the expansive window, the freestanding soaking tub takes full advantage of the beautiful views overlooking their property. With complete privacy and nothing but nature beyond the glass, it’s the perfect place to relax, unwind, and enjoy a little quiet time.

We finished this space with a gorgeous statement chandelier, adding a little sparkle and just the right amount of glamour.

2. Thoughtful Storage & Everyday Luxury
We wanted to make sure she had everything she needed at her fingertips. Custom floating cabinetry includes a dedicated hair tool drawer, organized dividers for makeup and everyday essentials, and a seated vanity area for getting ready. Oversized mirrors and beautiful decorative lighting elevate the experience while providing the functionality she needs every day.

3. A Fresh, Modern Aesthetic
A departure from the more traditional design throughout the rest of their home, we introduced clean architectural lines, warm wood cabinetry, soft stone finishes, and sophisticated metal details. The result is a modern, timeless space that feels warm, inviting, and effortlessly elegant.

4. A Spa Shower for Two
A spacious shower designed with both of them in mind. Multiple showerheads, beautiful stone mosaic flooring, and frameless glass create an open, airy space that offers the comfort and luxury of a spa experience right at home.

Because luxury isn’t simply about beautiful finishes. It’s about creating spaces that make everyday living feel extraordinary.

Our Skyecroft butler’s pantry was designed to be so much more than a place to prepare a cocktail or store a few bottles of w**e.

Our clients love entertaining, and we wanted to create a space that would make gathering with family and friends effortless while introducing beautiful architectural details and a little personality.

We layered custom blue cabinetry with warm brass accents, a striking geometric backsplash with gold inlay, and a beautiful hammered steel sink with a brass faucet and decorative drain.

But behind all those pretty details is a hardworking space. A dishwasher, ice maker, w**e refrigerator, custom w**e storage, and generous cabinetry keep everything organized and within reach. Open shelving provides the perfect opportunity to display collected pieces, beautiful glassware, and meaningful accessories.

With direct access to the pool, this space was thoughtfully planned to accommodate entertaining both indoors and out.

This is what we love about beginning the design process at the architectural phase. Every detail has an opportunity to be considered, from how a space functions to the materials, finishes, and furnishings that bring it to life.
