We have some exciting news, Charlotte! 🏆🏆

For the SECOND year in a row, PKB Design Build has been voted Charlotte's Best Remodeler!

Winning in 2025 was an incredible honor. Winning again in 2026? We're still smiling. 💙

There's something especially meaningful about being recognized by the community where we live, work, and build relationships.

Every project gives us the opportunity to get to know another family, understand what makes their home special, and help bring their vision to life. It's a privilege we never take for granted.

To our wonderful clients, dedicated team, talented trade partners, and everyone who voted for us, thank you from all of us at PKB!

We're so proud to serve the Charlotte community, and we look forward to continuing to earn your trust.

Here's to another year of doing what we love, right here in Charlotte! 🥂

The most expensive words in remodeling might just be, “While we're at it…”

You start talking about updating the kitchen. Then someone mentions the floors. And if you're changing the floors, should you rethink the layout?

Suddenly, the project looks a little different than it did at the beginning.

It's one reason we believe the planning phase is so important. Thinking through the big picture early helps homeowners make informed decisions before construction begins.

Have you ever started a home project that turned into something bigger than you originally planned?

What if your kitchen didn't have to handle everything?

That's one of the reasons we're such fans of a well-designed scullery.

It creates a separate space for the things that tend to take over kitchen countertops: small appliances, drink preparation, dishes, and the behind-the-scenes work that comes with cooking and entertaining.

This one brings plenty of character to that practical purpose, with soft blue cabinetry, wood floating shelves, a mosaic tile backsplash, and a hammered copper sink that deserves a closer look.

Could you see a scullery making a difference in your home?

Ever have a backyard you love looking at, but wish you had more reasons to spend time in it? 🌿

That’s the opportunity we saw with this project.

The pool and surrounding landscape already made for a beautiful setting. By adding a covered space for cooking, lounging, and entertaining, we helped turn the backyard into somewhere people could comfortably spend an entire afternoon or evening together.

And with a fireplace, outdoor kitchen, bar seating, and plenty of room to relax, there’s no shortage of ways to enjoy it.

It’s the kind of transformation that makes you rethink how much living can happen outside your four walls. 🏡

If this were your backyard, where would you spend most of your time?

We love a beautifully finished space. We love it even more when it already feels like home. 🐶💙

This new living area was part of a larger addition designed to give the family more space to enjoy everyday life.

With natural light, comfortable seating, a place to work, and plenty of personal touches, it's the kind of room that can serve a different purpose depending on the day.
And apparently, one of those purposes is providing a very nice place for a certain four-legged family member to relax. 😂

Something tells us this is going to be a popular spot.

Sometimes a small corner can become one of your favorite parts of a big remodel. 📚

This reading nook was created as part of a much larger addition, and we love that what could have simply been a pass-through became a destination of its own.

It’s a good reminder that adding more space isn’t only about square footage. It’s also about noticing the little opportunities within that space to create something personal, useful, or simply enjoyable.

We’d say this one is calling for a good book and a cup of coffee. ☕️

What if you could get more from your home without giving up the home you already love?

That was the opportunity here. 🏡

More space for a growing family. A much-needed garage. And an addition designed to complement the original house rather than compete with it.
Sometimes a remodel doesn’t just change your home. It changes what’s possible within it.

Maybe we made the guest bath a little too inviting. 😏

Guest bathrooms are a great place to take a design idea a little further. In this one, bold wallpaper, warm brass, and contrasting finishes give a smaller space plenty of character without needing to carry that same look throughout the rest of the home.

The only downside? Your guests might start finding reasons to stay another night. 👀

Would you go this bold in your guest bath?
