Trust is not established once a project begins, it’s starts with the very first conversation.

At Riemco, we call it Discovery- and we feel it’s one of the most important parts of our process.

Maria Riemenschneider, Owner and Client Engagement Lead, is often the first person prospective clients meet. Long before design begins or selections are made, she takes the opportunity to sit down with clients, visit their homes or property, and start getting to know the people behind the project.

She begins by listening.

What’s important to our clients? What are they hoping to accomplish? What’s driving the decision to build or remodel? What does this project need to do for the way you live?

These conversations are about much more than gathering information. They’re about getting to know one another, creating a comfortable place for honest conversations, establishing expectations, and determining whether Riemco is the right fit for your project.

Maria’s past background in management and client-facing roles has taught her that strong relationships are built through communication, listening, follow-through, and trust. That extends beyond our clients to our internal team and the trade partners who help bring each project to life.

Our clients came to Riemco with a clear goal: to build an 1840s-inspired Greek Revival home with character rooted in the period. Achieving that vision meant looking beyond the home’s overall form and giving careful attention to help the entire design feel intentional.

Long before construction begins, the work of creating a home is already underway.

Our designers take the time to get to know each client: how they live, what inspires them, and how they want their home to feel. Through conversation and collaboration, colors, materials, architectural details, and everyday needs begin to form a thoughtful, cohesive vision.

An inspiration board is an early glimpse of what’s possible. What begins as a collection of ideas will eventually become something very real: a home shaped around the people who will live there.

This transformation is a study in innovation: not flash for the sake of flash, but thoughtful problem-solving. With careful planning, zoning code consultation, and close attention to detail, this home emerged from the construction dust with new character, better flow, and a completely reimagined presence.

Inside, the layout avoids a fully open concept in favor of something more layered: framed views, quiet transitions, and glimpses of one room’s details from another. Wire mesh cabinet inserts are making a comeback, and this detail is a beautiful example of how classic materials can feel fresh again.

Lake home designs are all about the view. Bringing the outdoors in and capturing the essence of everything lake living has to offer is at the heart of our design approach.

For our clients, we encourage capturing that view the moment the front door opens. This stunning accordion door wall from La Cantina creates a seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor living spaces, opening completely to reveal panoramic lake views that can be enjoyed in every season. During bug season, a full-screen system allows fresh air to flow through while keeping unwanted visitors out.

The glass deck railing panels preserve uninterrupted sightlines, ensuring nothing stands between you and the water. They also allow an abundance of natural light to filter through, creating bright, inviting spaces both inside and out.
