A backyard can be beautiful and still be made to use.

This one combines a large open play lawn, putting green and space for sports, all framed by layered gardens, stone walls and terraces that make the recreation area feel like part of the landscape rather than an afterthought.

Designed for play, but still very much part of the architecture of the property.

Getting this kitchen layout right meant shifting the window, but there was a plumbing stack exactly where it needed to go. And on the exterior, we had original brick that needed to be carefully infilled and matched.

A relatively small change on the plan. A whole chain of details behind the scenes. And ultimately, the move that helped the kitchen fall into place.

A w**e cellar should feel just as good as the w**e it holds.

Layered lighting completely changes this space, from the glow behind the cabinetry to the pin lights highlighting individual bottles and the soft cove lighting washing across the brick.

Different layers. Different moods. One very good reason to linger a little longer.

Sometimes the entrance sets the tone for the entire room.

For this w**e room, we used curved glass doors wrapped in raw walnut to create an entry that feels more like a piece of custom furniture than a doorway.

The shape, material and detailing give you a hint of what’s waiting on the other side before you ever step inside.

Coffee when you want it. Clean cabinetry when you don’t.

This dedicated coffee station is built right into the kitchen cabinetry, with warm wood interiors that make opening the doors feel like a little reveal.

A w**e room needs to stay cool, but the HVAC doesn’t need to look like HVAC.

Here, the system is integrated behind decorative vents built right into the cabinetry. They allow the room to get the airflow and temperature control it needs without introducing a conventional grille into the design.

The functional pieces are still there. They’re just designed to belong.

How much can you actually fit into a wet bar?

Quite a bit, when every inch is designed to work.

This one wraps around the corner and packs in a w**e fridge, glassware storage, extra bottle storage, a dedicated coffee cabinet and plenty of room for everything you want close at hand.

Then close the doors and most of it disappears.

A lot of function tucked into one very polished little space.

Sometimes the transition between rooms deserves just as much attention as the rooms themselves.

Instead of a standard opening, we created a full curved arch that gives the dining room a stronger sense of arrival and turns the view into part of the design. Add the sconces and carefully worked trim, and a simple passage becomes a statement all its own.

It’s one of those details that makes the whole home feel more intentional.
