RUSTIC COTTAGE KITCHEN years ago when we opened our second office and added a shop to our offerings, we needed staff to have a chic space to live during our first year out East. A charming cottage presented itself and we jumped to a simple renovation without removing any of the original charm.

The kitchen, in particular was uniquely renovated using old wood found on the property for the cabinets and floors. Bold white paint and groovy ceramics and furnishings from the shop gave the term “original” a whole new meaning.

A ROOM with good bones does not need more, it needs better. This lakeside guest suite is about how minimal doesn’t mean empty — three or four related colors, not too much furniture, nothing fighting — makes a room feel inevitable rather than assembled. As if it was always going to look this way.

That’s the interest. Not more objects. More attention paid to fewer of them.
