Nothing makes my heart happier than climbing roses and clematis on a garden Arbor.
Climbing roses took it hard last winter, it was so cold for so long. It had to be cut all the way back. The clematis that grows along side this rose is making a slow but steady comeback. Happy to see this!

It must be a guy thing. Stu has had to move this huge compost pile back further into the woods for a while now. Today is the day. Now we can have room for more yard waste. Woo hoo!

Cranesbill is one of my favs. I have been experimenting over the years to determine which perennials overwinter in zone 6b. Cranesbill not only lives throughout the winter, it seems to thrive in pots. I love the licorice type smell as well.

Two years ago,in 2024 early in the Spring we divided our Heirloom Peonies and Siberian Iris and lined our walkway. Here we are in 2026 and it is Peonies time. Ours all started with one lone plant sitting under an ancient tree. I have divided that Peonie and all her babies every 2-3 years since and the result is fabulous. The fragrance is divine.
