In honor of our founder and guiding light, David A. Cowan, we will be renaming the PSS Main Conference Room to the David A. Conference Room.

This room has and will continue to serve a space for us to come together, brainstorm, discuss, and celebrate. David A.'s spirit will help guide those moments.

In honor of National Pedestrian Safety Month, we at PSS want to remind our audience of the importance of providing accessible pedestrian routes in areas where work zones and foot traffic meet.

According to the Governors Highway Safety Administration, in the first half of 2025 pedestrian deaths caused by traffic numbered over three thousand. That is a number that is far too high.

To decrease these numbers, it is imperative to minimize any situations in which vehicular traffic and pedestrian traffic interact.

That is why we have worked to design RightPath, a line of ADA compliant devices engineered to provide safe passage to all pedestrians of all capabilities. RightPath consists of pedestrian channelizers, wheelchair accessible ramps, and audible information devices that provide information and guidance to pedestrians on how to safely move through an altered footpath.

LaneGard is the best option for a Type III barricade when emergency road closure is needed, but it is the top choice in non-emergencies as well. LaneGard's lightweight and patented one-time assembly design allows it to be a versatile road closure device for sporting events, fairs, or any situation in which vehicular traffic is diverted for pedestrian access.

Simply place LaneGard down wherever a road needs closing, and move it as needed if and when vehicles begin to re-inhabit the space. Learn more about LaneGard here: https://www.pss-innovations.com/safety-products/barricades/lanegard-3-folding-type-iii-barricade

Yesterday, we had our annual cookout to celebrate PSS's anniversary. Last year today, we started to coordinate the celebration with the availability of our sales team, all of whom were in town for the festivities. We are thankful and ecstatic we get to come together as a company, far and wide, to celebrate the work we do and the impact we have on the road.

The terrorist attacks of 2001 happened twenty-five years ago today. The events of that day have redefined American culture and identity and put forward the often under appreciated importance of the first responders who risked life and limb to aid survivors that day.

Being a first responder is to neglect protecting the self in order to protect and serve others, it is among the ultimate contributions one can make to their society, often at great personal cost.

Today, perhaps more than any other, America is reminded of the weight of that cost.

PSS, with the rest of the nation, remembers 9/11 and those who served that day.

Today is not only Labor Day, but also PSS's 44th anniversary! This could not be more serendipitous, as PSS's mission revolves around protecting active workers wherever commuting and construction meet.

Be sure to appreciate the labor that this country is built upon, understanding that every task, no matter how small, contributes the forward momentum of America.

Please be stay safe and responsible with friends and family this holiday weekend.
