Proud sister moment

We hosted a small wedding today! Congratulations, Darra! The bride chose her bouquet flowers and table decorations yesterday.

My morning started with a big harvest before the rain came in. I had two awesome helpers in Riley and Rusten Bullard . These gentlemen helped me harvest in an hour what would have taken three.

The next round of subscription bouquets start going out tomorrow!

Rainy VIP events in the flower cottage seem to be the thing to do in May! The Women in Design group had a great time designing bouquets and enjoying cocktails from Sinners & Saints Mobile Bar. As always, farm-to-table appetizers featuring herbs and Garden Pepper Mix from Yo Grows and jelly from Rockin' B Ranch Farmacy. Flowers ready for harvest include snapdragons, statice, eucalyptus, zinnias, sunflowers, yarrow, lisianthus, and rudbeckia.

Last night was a rough one inside the "safety" of the Hoopla. Sadly, the deer ate the sweet potato vines and something got the cardinal's eggs. The sweet potato vines will recover, and the tunnel sides will not be left down at night, but the cardinal will have to try again. Farming can be super frustrating.

Surprise in the eucalyptus patch!!! If you thought the baby ducks were cool, come out, pick flowers, and see the baby birds up close. Let's hope our favorite cat, Punkin, doesn't find them 😬 I'll let you know when they hatch. The nest is knee high!
